  1. sure if you could pass on my number (yup same number), then that would be great Dave. If he's too busy I'll then try pming him. Nice one
  2. Sweet as, Daz. Are there contact details for him somewhere?
  3. Hello, I put up a thread like this ages ago, but can't remember any of the responses. I'm basically looking to find out who are the best people to approach regarding acoustic gigs? Any help would be much appreciated http://www.myspace.com/deathtoal
  4. shame that wasn't on the T-Break webshite
  5. That's a massive insult. I've been to Cammachmore. Hines, kill him.
  6. Fugazi are exceptional, but everyone expects me to say that. It's hard trying to get a band together, I've been trying to get something going for the last year after my old band died, but no luck (although that's down to study commitments as well).
  7. EMBRACE!!! That's amazing, I'm surprised they're getting back together for something like this. Would have thought Discord would have ruled out such a move as selling out. Anyway, just shows you football is rubbish these days and that rugby is a true natured sport.
  8. Yeah we did have a trousers round our ankles on stage. Fudge wouldn't let us take part in the drinking competition because there were "too many teams," but what I believe happened is they either thought "these guys are ace drinkers we can't let them take part, it will be slaughter" or "these guys are shitfaced, we can't let them take part, it will be sickness and slaughter".
  9. Sue: Yes, and felt it, ouch. Bri: Flying circus? Teabags: Definitely
  10. I've been dreading this day for ages, but now it's here I want to celebrate. It's my birthday today, and I'm going to the Moorings for 8.30 tonight. If there's anyone who wants to come down for some fun then please do. Since my phone died at New Year I lost a lot of peoples numbers, so this is the next best thing, woop. Hope you can make it, x
  11. I thought it was absolutely shit. As Subsisty said, Paul McGuigan is of Gangster No. 1 fame, however he's also known to be one of the most criticised directors in film, and I'm not surprised. The cinematography and the camera work was inconsistent, the story for the first two thirds cliched (every character was from some sort of boring hap-hazard detective novel, Lucy Liu - ditzy, sporadic, cute, love interest, Josh Hartnett the downtrodden good looking hero, Bruce Willis - every assassin role ever, Freeman/Kingsley - one was the smooth talking, Homer/Sun-su quoting boss, the other the interestingly, oddball, it honestly felt that the Jewish thing was thrown in there for some differation). The acting was okay in areas, average in others - Willis, the same role he's done in so many films *yawn*, Hartnett, very average, Liu, where is her career going? The film couldn't make up its mind where it was going, and referenced Pulp novella's so badly it was supposed to redeem itself? It was jarred and fragmented. Themes and styles clashed: comedy, pulp, thriller, action, dark noir, love story, hitchcockian finale, in the end it, just seemed misguided. It was almost as if the producers and director where trying to be immensely clever, creating a document on the 40s thriller, 70s pulp novella mixed with techniques currently in use in film today. It didn't work. Those flashbacks as well looked awful with that jerky camera, ugh. I'm sorry, but it's the worst film I've ever seen, not because it was simply awful (Freddie Vs Jason, Doom as two recent examples), but because it was done by people who can actually formulate good ideas and portray them well on film, who then made a monstrosity.
  12. ...what are the chances that I'll go out and pass out after a couple of drinks? ANYthing crazy on tonight?
  13. Sonic Youth TITP 2002, Slint ATP 2005, Bis TITP 1999, Eska TITP 2002, PRML SCRM Glasgow Green 2000, blah blah My worst moment was getting my face cut by Neil HG, while chasing him naked around the campsite at TITP, after he kept bothering me in my tent. Horrific, me holding my face, blood trickling down my arm, holding a plastic sheet round my waist.
  14. I quite like The Evens, if only I didn't have to study. Dissertation = Death
  15. you're only saying that so Maxi doesn't write abusive things on the black board:up:
  16. Thank you for all the the kind words, it's made me want to get started again. I might try and play in the next few monthssssss. I plan to record some more demos too. When, or if that happens, I'll set up a myspace, uuueeeewww! Thank you again, especially for the scene points, I suddenly feel popular, ho ho.
  17. I was never really into ipods or itunes until I got one for my christmas two years ago. Deathpodal is now dead, so I got a nu-pod (see what I did there) with video play capabilities. Anyway what video did I find and purchase (I'm against this buying online thing, but got a free voucher with my new acquisition), but The Blood Brothers - Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck. Now if only I could get Deftones - Change, I'd be happy to never darken my computer screen with the itunes music store again.
