    Pallas

Well I like Pallas and would love to finally see them live afetr all this time There certainly aren't many Abverdeen bands who were signed to EMI, played Reading etc and for that fair play to them If you get it organised put me down for a couple of tickets
  3. I have to say I think the design is a bit flat, I like some of the actual designs but find the website itself lacking in the flare that's shown in the designs. I also think that the way the description of you sells it more as someone playing with the idea of design rather than a designer of some skill (which you obviously are). I've looked (and produced) a lot of portfolio's throughout the years and the ones which grav attention most are the ones that sell the individual, name, age, experience, examples, very little else tbh, the work should sell itself. The point of a portfolio is to sell you as an artist and from that respect i think you want to do just that and not do it in third party. I do think it does sound pretentious, your artwork has a nice simplistic texture, something that is often missing in my artwork and i think that you should sell yourself as such - it's a rare thing as too many designer's overcomplicate things, hope you don't mind some constructiive criticism, Cheers Stuart
  4. Moffat is one of the great writers out their at the moment imo, I mean he wrote Coupling (greatest UK comedy of the last 10 years) and Press Gang (one of the best UK Kids TV series ever), so I'm looking forward to his Dr Who contribution, also I think matt Smitt looks like he could be quite good
  5. New Dido album - has to be better than the last one, which i liked but nowhere near as good as the first one. New Marillion album - again i haven't liked their recent full albums but the acoustic album was a return to form. New Jo McCafferty album "Overtaking on a Bend" - bit cheeky putting this ion but it's going to be a brilliant release. new David Devant and His Spirit Wife album - Surely these guys are due a new album this year !!
  6. I blame Paula Yates more for Peaches... Like mother like daughter...
  7. Whereas I agree with a lot of what you say, just because you havent heard him sing in years doesnt mean U2 haven't been putting stuff out - and to big audiences, their last album "No Line on the Horizon", the album sold millions and was number one in most of the big territories, UK, US, Canada, Italy, Germany, Autralia etc.Musically I don't mind some U2 but I do wish Bono would stop trying to make himself the saviour of everything when as a band they have been well know to do whatever it takes for the maximum profit. Strange that only 4 years ago, there was talk about how expensive 50 was a gig and how ridiculous it was, and yet any stadium gig would cost that or more nowadays with madonna charging over 100 for some of her tickets.
  8. The Palin Diaries (Hollywood Years) You're Him, Aren't You? Biography of Paul Darrow The complete peanuts 1967-70 Vouchers Life on blu Ray Dr Who: Key to Time Complete Boxset A Princess Leia Mug T-shirts A few other things Cheers Stuart
  9. I would have thought that a Globespan Pilot would be on about half of that. maybe a bit more, a BA captain on long haul would make more that 100k, but globespan are short haul and a smaller airline, so it's more than likely viewed as a stepping stone to the big salaries, rather than a well paid 100k job.
  10. I assume you mean Wolfstone, Wolfsbane were definitely not "fiddly-dee-diddle-dee" Celtic music, they were good though, i always liked "All hell's breaking loose at little Kathy Wilson's place". Cheers Stuart
  11. Aye, it was announced yesterday, lucky for them they werent flying a few days later though.
  12. No, I agree, I do think he's a good duitarist, but the reason he's so regarded isnt because he's a great guitarist its because he was innovative and influential.
  13. In the case of Johnny Marr, it's not like he's the best guitarist ever, its possibly that he's one of the most influential.
  14. Close, Blondie is the best known version but it was actually written by John Holt lead singer of the Paragons, but I'm guessing its a mistake on wiki (surely not) although there were some new lyrics inserted into the Atomic Kitten version for the Lizzie Maguire Movie, it can hardly be classed as writing it, but I think he co-produced it which is why its there, albeit in the wrong place.
  15. Jem Godfrey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia lovely bloke too
  16. The guy who wrote 'That's my Goal' is actually a mad prog head who writes pop tunes to finance his other prog projects Frost* on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Yes there will, the top of Kilimanjero is always covered in snow...

  20. Pah, everyone knows it shopuld be the muppets version of Bohemian Rhapsody at no1 for Christmas
  21. I can certainly recommend Stuart's place in Lossie, we've recorded a few demoes etc in theer, and I've heard some completed work in there and it's one of the best studio's around. Stuart's a nice guy to work with also - possibly one of your best bets.
  22. I'm currently in a seriously revamped Aberdeen Team in 2012, managed to get 2.5 million for darren mackie and 1.7 for Lee Miller and bought Steven Fletcher who has been brilliant and Riordan and got the best scoring partnership in Scotland, won the premiereshi[p last year after being second previous 2 years and on course to win again now, pittodrie has been enlarged to 25k capacity (being enlarged again next year) and my trips into europe have been successfull too, getting beaten eventually by AC Milan and Barcelona in the past few years. Got a few nice, cheap players and now my youth team is starting to produce some really good players.
  23. Pah whats another 1000 miles on the 142,000 already on the clock
  24. I think they were all released by the same label iirc, there was some way in which it was all connected and the irony was people thinking they were fighting teh X-Factor record label etc and inr eality were giving them more money.
  25. Maybe a lifetimes most missed award to Zombie Munch... Whatever happened to Betamax too, him and I had some great battles back in the day...
