I agree that it was a pretty poor season. The seventh is apparently to be the last though, so hopefully it'll pick itself up for that.

Played the campaign co-op with a friend from the midnight opening and the following day. Was a good blast, though very short, and I've played too many PC FPS's to consider it more than an average shooter. Multiplayer remains Halo's strength though, fantastic fun to play

Thanks for that link, some of the other reviews were just as brilliant.

End of the world/destruction etc movies?
Kan' Sharuminar replied to Red Neck Man's topic in Movies & TV
I hate to say it but I really didn't get into Children of Men as much as I thought I should have. May sound odd, but I thought it was good, just couldn't care about what was going on. Saw 28 Weeks Later on the same day. Good film, helped by the fact that I love Robert Carlyle and am in love with Rose Byrne. Ending seemed a bit sudden and all too much setting-up-a-third-film though. It had some good scenes (and music) to it, particularly the outbreak scene with the snipers. -
Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor. I've reread it yearly, as it's nothing short of awesome, and I still learn something new from it.

I rather enjoyed the Celtic-Aberdeen match, one of the few times I've actually been able to go see a match live Aberdeen deserved the first half of the game, but was a bit surprised by the rather dull performance in the second half. Kudos to the Celtic keeper for giving a fisted punch to the Dons fans after just catching the ball on the line. I assume that's totally illegal, but by heaven's totally awesome. Love you

I'd blow it all in the 99p store.

I would guess that it's a set-up for a third film, given that it's the Joker taking centre-stage in this one. I'll judge this when I see it, and am quite happy to give such pre-release images the benefit of the doubt, particularly given how I rather enjoyed the first film and it seems to be the same crew with this sequel. I admit that what I've seen of the Joker so far has been rather unappealing however.

Cloud Appreciation Society (No, not that Cloud)

I'd only join if it let me adopt a cloud -
From it's wiki entry it still sounds interesting though, may give it a look .

Not at all surprising, though no less disappointing. Going by this, I wouldn't be too surprised to see it coming out in Q3/Q4 2008. Just before Christmas.

Is it UT3 that's going to have controllable War of the Worlds-esque tripods wandering around? Would be worth buying just to pilot one of those.
-
Medieval 2: Kingdoms Half-Life Episode 2 Spore (that's not until 2008 though ) Smash Bros

Agreed! Hell, I've seen people who have such empty lives that they feel they need to go onto a random anonymous internet forum and complain all day about a bit of fictional literature. It's a bit pathetic,

Quite agree, favourite chapter of the book. Though it would have been nice if Snape had a few more scenes, and he didn't exactly have the most spectacular of endings.
-
Roald Dahl and Winnie the Pooh stories I read every so often. Like HP, they provide a nice escapism from all the books on war I read
-
Decent read, but not great. I enjoyed the ending, but the whole epilogue chapter seemed a bit forced on. Snape vindicated! Just no hope of a future spin-off called Snapes Big Adventure

Aye, I've seen that, and quite agree that CGI Yoda looks far better for the Prequel Trilogy. I just think he should be left alone for the Originals
-
I think those are the most recent ones out, but there's undoubtedly going to be new versions coming out, though I don't know the details. Has there been a boxset of the entire saga yet? There's been talk of one featuring making puppet Yoda (in Phantom Menace , not the old Trilogy ) CGI, and I wouldn't put it past Lucas to use that to justify a whole new release.

I'm kinda creepy looking! Which is groovy.

Depends which ones I haven't seen in a while. I'm also currently playing LotR Online, so it's kinda swaying me to that lot of films.

Depends on the transcription you want to work with. From what I can tell, the Bible is quite the mistranslated piece of work, apparently everyone has their own version.

scientists discover totally intact mammoth
Kan' Sharuminar replied to ben_1903's topic in General Discussion
Personally, I'd rather we concentrated on the current species going extinct, rather than bringing back the ones that are long dead. Add a dollop of mustard, and you'll see the truth he speaks. -
I swear that one of those hotel Bibles I read had some passages claiming that God made Eve because Adam was unsatisfied with the animals he had been given. Or words to that effect.

Are you expecting Earth to spontaneously combust or something? Good find though, will be interesting to see if anything comes of this discovery.
