  1. Alison Goldfrapp turned down an invitation to appear on Lorraine Kelly's show as its "a bit too early in the morning for the onslaught of that very happy face." I enjoyed that one.
  2. They've been in my 'Top 5 bands' for a very long time now, yes.
  3. Ah... Cherie is my lovely cousin. Hmmm. I don't really think of it as having 'the album' to be honest. I have the songs from the album, but the physical artwork is what really makes it an album.Amanda recently posted her opinion on downloading it on The Shadow Box, and she's like "well, y'know, if you want to download it, download it. I can't stop it, it's the future. But please buy it when it comes out." Which I fully intend on doing. They get so little money from the album anyway. Big artists only get like 1 off album sales. It's all about the merch, and with my order for the $40 sheet music in, I don't think they'll feel robbed. Anyway, bring on May 4th and 5th!
  4. The Dresden Dolls - Necessary Evil. The Prodigy - No Good. Goldfrapp - Beautiful. The Academy Is... - Slow Down. The Dresden Dolls - Sing. A day of "The's". And Goldfrapp.
  5. I was generally alright in all my exams, but there was a girl infront of me in one exam who counldn't get the lid off her pen, and tried and tried but it wouldn't come off. Eventually she managed to dislodge it, and it flew backwards and hit me in the face. I couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes, and had numerous "Shhhoooshhh!" from angry invigilator lady. But thats about it for misbehaviour. Stupidly, the night before my Higher Biology exam, I went into town with this girl from my work. At about midnight, I planned on going home, but she invited me back to her flat. I shouldn't have went, having an exam the next day and all, but you just don't say no to this girl. We drank a stupid amount, and some drugs were involved (which is something I rarely/never do). The next day, I was woken up early as she was leaving for work, and couldn't get back to sleep. I went home and picked up my uniform, then went to the exam in the most horrendous state of feeling ill, and hungover and still quite out of it from the night before. Unsurprisingly, thats the kind of thing that slaps a big FAIL on your qualifications. A mistake which shall not be repeated.
  6. Panic's tour in April went on sale today, and in the space of the day started at The Cathouse, was upgraded to The Garage, then upgraded again to The Carling Academy. And a few dates round the country sold out completely in hours. Utter madness.
  7. I saw that last week on the councils website. I assume if the City Council are posting it on their website, it's all been checked out and is accurate. Which is cool.
  8. They are playing in my work, which will be very cool. I'm thinking I'll find some reason to be there during the day and just kinda bump into Amanda and Brian. I'm probably also going to see them in Edinburgh also, so I would no doubt come home for a night and attend an Aberdeen show on top of that. Actually, that would be cool. Book them.
  9. I quite like the idea. I don't think they can do anything that will ruin Friends reputation as probably the most successful sitcom of the 90s. I'm thinking they are doing this because the writers (much like the fans) weren't too happy with the last few seasons and have thought of much better ways to round off the show. I don't think the spin-off will work. 'Joey' was piss poor. And how will they explain the lack of Chandlers wife? If Monica and Chandler got divorced, that would give Friends a crap ending and probably throw Chandler into the depth of depression. I can't imagine he'd be that great a spin-off character if he just stayed in bed all day. I'm thinking too much about this. Mon the Friends, etc.
  10. Panic! At The Disco - The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage. Placebo - Because I Want You Hole - Violet Bad Dancer - Dy Dntel feat Ben Gibbard - (This is) The Dream of Evan and Chan.
  11. Amazing. When and where from can tickets be purchased? (If you know this yet.)
  12. Out of curiosity, is it Jenny playing her solo stuff with The Watson Twins, or is it just Jenny?
  13. Ah, I adore the Hiltons. Nicky more than Paris. So rich and famous for doing absolutely nothing. I'd go as far as to say I'm jealous of them. Paris does have that stoned look about her, all the time, but Nicky looks amazing in that photo.
  14. Since You've Been Gone rocks my socks. Thats a regular "Huh?" song at my work. Though not shameful, Violent Pornography by S.O.A.D has been gracing my ear drums of late. Not a band I'm particularly fond of, but any song about "choking chicks and sodomy" has to be worth a shot. Be My Baby by The Ronettes is another song which isn't so much shameful, just not to my usual taste. The reason I like it is however shameful. (Dirty Dancing.)
  15. www.myspace.com/brokensunshine I beleive.
  16. Takk is currently playing as I'm reading this thread. I'd say that its up there with the best. I just wish I could pronounce the song titles. Plans by Death Cab For Cutie. Though most fans don't think its anything special, by the time it came out I was gagging for more DCFC, so anything would have made my life. It just so happens that Plans was infact wonderful. No Transatlanticism, but nothing ever will be. Supernature by Goldfrapp. Loved it when it first came out, kinda went off it for a bit, but recently returned to it and adore it more than ever. The soundtrack to alcohol induced dancing. Confusing choice of singles from it though. Push The Button by The Chemical Brothers. I think that was this year... Yeah, it must have been. Great album, start to finish. Usually it wouldn't be in my list of the best, but there haven't been that many albums which really appeal to me this year. The Prodigys greatest hits album was good, but that doesn't really count. Erm. Yeah. Probably a few others floating about that I was fond of. I guess I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is pretty good. I was also fond of Digital Ash though.
  17. Pretty Girls Make Graves. I'd also say Jenny Lewis, but I've had her album for about a month or so. It will be nice to have the actual CD though. On an unrelated note, do bands ever 'leak' fake albums? I don't know of any cases of this, but I can imagine someone must have though "Lets throw a few of our demos and rejected songs together and put them up as the new album leaked."
  18. I always stand on headphones. Then they don't work.
  19. We have 3 Universities and I beleive 9 colleges in Glasgow, but we're not allowed to accept any Student cards at all as ID at my work.
