  1. perfect!!! We were planning to practice at Cap Tom's 4-6pmish so we'll be down just before 7pm. off to make some flyers to punt the gig a bit just now, anything to give me something else to do instead of job hunting on the net. Just when i got used to student life....

    Who else......

....is playing the July gig with SEA and Radio Lucifer by the way.....?
  3. not sure if we'll have a full song ready, basically we have the base recipe for a song, we just have to add the flavourings and garnish to make it palatable. Prob one of our best riffs though, very early FAR in my opinion, loud and noisy. We've got a practice on monday before the gig though, so it could appear in some conception, prob as an intro to a song. Thats a point.... what time would you like us to be at Drakes for? so i can book practive times to fit in with soundcheck times. Ta x
  4. Tori Amos - Smells like teen spirit (Nirvana) beautiful.
  5. Me and Blair from SEA will getting wrecked after we play, the joy of being on first!!! yass!! Depending on work/money the other SEA guys might make it out too.
  6. Oohhh this could be good, the only way i can see me not being there is we might have a gig with Venetian Love Triangle that night in Dundee. But if that ain't on i'll definitely be there
  7. Mogwai- Xmas Steps. Think thats over 10mins.
  8. since i've finished uni i've got fuck all to do now, so expect a review or two from me. totally broke till fri though, so it'll be of a gig or two next week.

  10. I was gutted to discover the Killers and Stellastar did a gig at Tuts not long ago, two of my favourite new bands.
  11. most one line drawing songs, hurt by J. Cash, the whole explosions in the sky set when you see them live, and 3 libras by a Perfect Circle

  16. ok, a few points. 1/ i wasn't bothered about the reviewer not liking our band, i was just commenting on how poor a reviwer he is. He couldn't get the name right, provided no constructive criticism and commented on our percieved age and drummers "look"- rather than using his word space to say what he thought of the performance. 2/ True enough, SEA aren't doing something wildely different in terms of general music (who is nowadays?), but we are trying to blend musical genres to produce a definite sound that we can call our own. We have elements of Jazz, Metal, Post-Rock, Stoner Rock, Post-Hardcore etc etc in our songs, where-as a lot of the bands i saw at T-Break over the two days i was there were very uninteresting, and stuck to the one genre type for all their songs. That was the context of my comment. To stress again, we are not disappointed about not getting through, as we felt there were stronger performances in our heat than ours (from one band who made it through, and one band that didn't). lots of fun was had, and i still consider the T-Break process a jolly good time. hope thats cleared up some things
  17. I would definitely be there! if its happening, i know a lot of folk from Elgin, Forres and Glasgow who would make the journey up too
  18. "Straight out of S-Grade Physics stride nu-metallers-by-numbers Small Enclosed Space. First a quiet bit, then, wait for it, here comes the power chord chorus. Wow, that rawks. On the plus side, they have the coolest drummer of any band on the planet. He is a firing beardy rhythm machine-gun straight from the wastelands of Norway. " That was our review from the T-break selected reviewer, what a pile of pish. Couldn't even bother to get our name right. why didnt he start his other reviews of a couple of bands (won't mention who) with "here's the indie by numbers band ... here's the quiet boring bit, followed by the lame unispiring chorus bit, then the predicable bridge bit....etc....etc. At least we try and do something different. Plus thats two years that the reviewer has referred to us as a high-school band, considering we are all 20-23. Wasn't bothered about not getting in, as there were a lot of really good bands playing the heats, personal faves would be T13, Allergo, Weird Attractors, Venetian Love Triangle. Gutted Turning 13 didn't get in, as they were fantastic at Tuts that night. but hey ho, its just the opinion of 3 judges so you can't take it to heart

Small Enclosed Area We Become Less RAAR Outsane Eastgrange loft, Forres Doors 8.30 3.50 in advance, 5 at door. Here's a bit on RAAR.... "Raar are AC/DC ramming Kiss's cosmetic Winnebago down Noddy Holder's screaming cakehole"- Metro review "Classic rock shapes meld with bludgeoning riffola to create an energetic show that culminates in a riot of stage destruction and partial nudity"- Sunday Herald review of their T in the Park performance Here's a wee bit on Outsane, couldn't find much on their site.... "Inspiration is mostly drawn from Biffy Clyro, Pantera, Foo Fighters, Incubus style although i and many other people will agree we dont sound alot like any of them"
  21. This Thursday coming on Vic and Gill's radio 1 show, between 8pm-10pm. they'll either not tell any of the winners, and let everyone wait for the announcement on radio. Or they'll phone the winners up on the thursday just before the show, and tell them not to tell anyone till its announced on the radio, thats what we how we got told when we made this years heats
  22. ...announced on Vic and Gill this thursday. Turning13 have an excellent chance this year, they put on a top performance and impressed a lot of people. Here's hoping they make it!! We put in a pretty solid performance, but there were some very very strong bands in our heat, so we're not holding out for a place in the last 12 this year. It was an excellent experience none the less, and we met a lot of old friends, and made some new ones along the way.
  23. Day after tomorrow....Small Enclosed Area play king tuts if anyone is staying for an extra night.
  24. just e-mailed you back, should be an excellent nite! I recommend going to see Turning 13 tomorrow as well
