  1. "There are no set rules to follow, just a big black gaping hollow that we fall into and hope that it means love" "cause lover, when I drink, Im dozy but I fancy getting cosy and I heard a rumour that I might have caught your eye. So come on darling, break my heart. Mess me around and shag all my friends, cause we cant waste what we cant even start and its best to go out with a bang when a wee disaster ends." "they know who Ive fucked, they know what Ive taken. Theyve seen me in the shower with shit down my legs. Theyve seen me searching a strangers house for dregs. I used to think they loved me, but now I know its pity and they know that they can always flee this fucking city. They even said theyd help me out and give me a head start and they know that these days my cocks as numb as my heart" "Sex without love is a good ride worth trying but love without sex is second only to dying. When kissing is missing and legs stay shut tight youll hate every morning and dread every night. Dont drag it out when youve lost your glue. Youll always feel lonely and always be minging, you wont notice colours and youll never hear singing. The surest sign ever that good times are ending is sharing a sleeping space with no fucking pending. Dont drag it out too far, dont do what I do." "I clench my sphincter and suck in my gut, another big mistake by the incompetent slut. She's never coming back, whoever she may be. This is a big day for me. I can come in my hand, I can come on you" Now those are heartfelt honest lyrics taken from random Arab Strap songs.
  2. Is Wolfman not that guy thats mates with the Libertines, and released a single that got to no.3 in the charts?? Wolfman was also a character in TopGun
  3. my money is still on Calvin Klein. Those lyrics really are that bad. If you want proper amazing emo lyrics listen to a Far album, or One Line Drawing. Especially "Living Small" (or could be "Living Large", haven't got the album with me) on One Line Drawing album "The Volunteers", thems proper emo lyrics. But only once you spread your music taste to Arab Strap, then you will realise how good lyrics can be.
  4. from what i've heard of YMSS they sound really impressive. Redjetson were good at the Lemon Tree last year, great music but i didn't like the singing. Give them muchos credit for introducing SEA to Explosions in the Sky though
  5. is that not the line off of that Calkin Klein advert for Obsession?
  6. Shitters, can't make this one. We've a gig in Glasgow that night. A really diverse line up, and another excuse to get hammered missed. I will def be in attendance in the remaining b-day gigs though
  7. well, with any luck we will have another ep/ or single out before the end of the year, which will be recorded by the guitarist from Terra Diablo/session guitarist of Snow Patrol, who offered to do it for a very small sum (just hope he remembers, as we were all a bit drunk at Perfect Circle!!) We have one definite finished song "Little Urban Achiever" which we've played twice or thrice in Aberdeen, and spanks the pants of most of material that'll be definitely on it. We're also working on two incredible songs at the moment, which we could have finished quite soon. We've totally hit a purple patch, and are enjoying every minute of it.
  8. possibly the most unispiring and over rated band i have ever seen. Really thought they are awful.
  9. excellent! cheers dude, glad you like it. I wanted track 2 to be swapped with track 1 as well, but the label and one or two of the band decided to swap them. Track listing on your promo cd is- 1/ A Taste of India 2/ Bomb Alaska 3/ Hero Journey 4/ Who you are We should be releasing it late July, artwork is done, just waiting on Hackpen to make the cds. Might be ready for our gig with Broken Oath and Radio Lucifer on July 24th at Drakes. If not we'll have them for the August 13th gig. I'll pop by for those posters on the way home from the library today, should be dropping by in half an hour or so.
  10. I recommend everyone goes and sees the Weird Attractors, they were brilliant in our heat. Crazy bongo drumming and trumpets. something to get smashed and dance to. I recommend no-one go see josephine.
  11. mine is always the "Brit-Rock" albums from about 6/7 years ago, Three Colours Red, Therapy?, Terrorvision, Symposium et al. Reminds me of being about 12 or 13 again
  12. a crazy crazy night!!! shame about the crotia engerland result, but quickly forgot about it. was really reeeally hammered, but can still pretty much remember everything-makes a change! Tried to make it out, but puked up my first drink thanks to the delayed hangover i got on wednesday afternoon, so i was a no show. Going out tonight i think for the Portugal game tho, so with anyluck my stomach is more accomodating. Can't wait for Feverdream
  13. They totally deserve to get a record deal. until then, they have two self financed ep's coming out sometime in the near future, can't wait.
  14. Rockers is a pretty ace venue, looks a bit like drummonds but without the upstairs bit, good sound too. Ocean Fracture are a good band as well, cool guys too. I suggest you print out a map of how to get there from streetmap.co.uk, it was a big help for us!! If you know where the Arches is though, Rockers is next door
  15. fuck, good find. I own every single UK release of Transformers on VHS, most of it bought on ebay. thought it would be worth a pretty penny......until they went and released the DVD box sets, bumflaps.
  16. I thought they were a bit average when they supported the Wildhearts. but I was really hungover though at that gig, so i wouldn't have been that accomodating
  17. Glasgow QMU august 5th The Gloria Flaw Small Enclosed Area DeadorAmerican The Site of Future Rome All my Logic Ignition 8 ball. Should be a fantastic gig, and a crazy night out afterwards no doubt.
  18. recrded with the help of Iain Cook & Campbell McNeil of Aereogramme can be found here www.juliathirteen.com One of the most atmospheric and tight bands i have ever seen, and possibly the greatest bunch of guys on the planet, hopefully get them back to aberdeen v.soon
  19. i shall be drinking copius (sp?) amounts after we play, as i just got 20 from my Granny for getting my degree. bit of a pathetic story, but i don't care as i now have 20, woop. bit of a bastard that the Crotia Engerland game is on, but fuck it, the gig shall be immense!
  20. anything by the following bands Mogwai Godspeed you! black emperor Sigur Ros Explosions in the sky One Line Drawing Arab Strap (purely for lyrical genius)
