  3. Mine changes daily, but its probably "Stanley Kubrick" at the minute. I've got the Young Team symbol tattooed on the inside of my wrist, such is the brilliance of mogwai. Shame they all hate that album.....
  4. Hunted by a freak was also used in the excellent Football Factory film
  5. Think i saw them support Millencolin at Glasgow Garage many years ago, if it was them... they were pretty poor
  6. Half true, me and Blair have lived in Aberdeen long enough to gain Aberdeen citizenship, bit like Nigel Quashie playing for Scotland despite being English, hence why we're in the best rock category at Fudge awards, and not best international act. But we were indeed Elgin born and raised
  7. Martin Prendagast will be back after a year long exile in Canada about march time, we'll give you a shout about dates etc around then
  8. ...but you don't know who we are, we've got our backs to the audience
  9. Well, in a way... it is different. But not totally different. We haven't gone in a new direction, we've just written much better songs, with ideas, rhythms and equipment that we haven't used before. Based on the first 4 new songs that we're nearing completion, i think alot of people will be very impressed. We'll also be spending a lot of time working on new ways of playing songs, as we found that playing the same songs, the same way for months, got a bit stale. so expect alot more diversity and experimentation. The next gig we'll be doing in Abdn will be Feb/March time i think, with an entire new set, and possibly a re-worked "Little Urban Achiever" Thanks for all the positive comments regarding "Seventeen Whiskies"
  10. El vino did flow Canna mind much from that party, apart from.... discussing future neighbours plots with Brendan J13, sharing bragging rights over Pro Evo 4 with Dok, and slapping Maxi about till he got up. The first big weekend of the Winter

  16. ...if anyone in the old smoke would like to come..... @ Studio 24, Edinburgh 4 at door Doors 7pm (i think) Our new EP's and T-shirts will be available at this gig w/ Endorphine - With hints of Muse and Radiohead, Edinburgh's Endorphin have had their music identified as a blend of melodic pop, laced with thundering bass and vicious guitars. Originally formed as a 3 piece in 1999, Endorphin recruited Tris Turner on bass guitar, in the spring of 2004, to complete the line up. He joins Si Pollitt on vocals & guitar, Wes Sinclair on drums and Andy Colliar on lead guitar. LifeBlind - Glasgow's Life Blind are destined for the top having supported Static X at the Carling Academy in June of this year. Broadly speaking, the quartet are nu-metal - in the vein of Trust Company - and never fail to disappoint with their stage show. Frontman Kevin Miles offers a mix of melodic and screaming vocals backed up by Daniel Brown (guitar), Matthew Hadden (bass) and Gary "Skippy" Martin on drums to create catchy and memorable sound. Sonorous - From Dunfermline (Fife), Sonorous produce an eclectic mix of analogue-electronica loops and synths and contemporary melodic guitar rock. Harmonically they draw influences from bands such as Mogwai, Radiohead and Jeff Buckley with an electronic edge inspired by the likes of Aphex Twin, Autechre and Massive Attack. Tenesee Kait - Intense and uncompromisingly brutal, yet with the ability to show a side of themselves that is subdued, contemplative and quite beautiful to behold. These startlingly effective loud/soft dynamics have become the lynch-pin of the Tenesee Kait sound, their own individual brand of alternative rock which they continue to showcase to its full effect on their second single, Vaseline Smile (downloadable from their website).
  17. i just think the streets are a poor Arab Strap, although the newest song is pretty good - "bright lights" or something like that
  18. Here's my two cents, The Lemon Tree show wasn't our best i admit. we were ok in terms of tightness, but could've been better. In terms of stage performance, we have been lacking for a wee while. I remember last summer we were a lot more mobile on stage and getting a lot of praise for it. However, it is hard to "rock out" to the slightly more progressive/darker stuff we are doing now. And with having diverse songs throughout the set, it feels a bit weird to throw yourself about for a song or two, then calm down at the long quiet, intricate parts, then go crazy again. The best example of a band that don't rock out, but still totally own the stage are A Perfect Circle. Seeing them in Glasgow was immense, with MJK on a platform at the very back of the stage, where you couldn't even see his face for the entire set. Also, the fantastic lighting obviously made a huge difference. An anthemic sound, brilliant musicians, and superd lighting will lend well to a band who aren't mobile. However, as we can't get that lighting etc, we will tend to appear lacking in oomph Stage presence is something we are going to have to work on, as well as a new set, as after these EP launch dates end Sept/start Oct, i can't see us keeping many of our existing songs that often. Got a couple of new tracks in the process of finishing, so hopefully they'll get the thumbs up
