  1. We've played with the Ocean Fracture in Greenock a while back as well, very emo-core......bit like Glassjaw. But its been a while, so they may have changed their sound, some bands do that kind of thing. Orko are also from Greenock and i've heard good things about them, actually i had a demo of them a while back which reminded me of Biffy Clyro a bit. Haven't heard of the other one, should be good though Put the date in your diary, much cheapness too.
  2. 5, but if you send an e-mail to smallenclosedarea@hotmail.com with your full name we can put a free ticket or two behind the bar for you. Think its ok to do that, as that what Tuts do when you order tickets for touring bands, we know Smilie and Suzie who work there, so it should be cool. We've got 40 to give away, think we have one or two left, so give us a buzz if you fancy it.
  3. poop. Well if you are in Glasgow this week, you might want to pop along to King tuts on Thurs 13th May, about 8pm as Small Enclosed Area are playing there....
  4. I was at Drakes, a low crowd might have had something to do with the Newcastle semi-final??? we tend never to play gigs the same dates as important football matches as we know most of our mates are big football fans, and would probably watch the game before us.
  5. brilliant, shall be there!
  6. Still the same singer, he's just let his winter plumage get a little longer!
  7. nah, i'm the bassist. Cheers for the words of encouragement by the way, most appreciated! For anyone who didn't get a flyer thrust in their hand (must be very few), Small Enclosed Area are playing the Moorings bar this saturday if they want another taste
  8. T'was an ace night, I ended up pretty smashed by the end of it. Thought Turning13 were the top band of the night, probably the best performance i've seen of them. Next tues will be ace! Gloria Flaw and Jetplane were brilliant also, can't wait to see what new numbers TGF have coming for the next gig. We were maybe a little disappointed with our performance, it went ok, but we always seem to have a "lava curse" where something goes wrong, or a gig is cancelled etc. This time, it was all going fine until Stu broke the bass drum skin coming up to the best part of our last song, so we had to completely improvise an ending which in my ears sounded ok, but could've sounded so much better. Stu profusely apologises to the other bands for the inconvenience. All in all though, we did ok. I always feel really awkward on Kef's stage as well, must be something to do with the height. Gives us something to work on before T-break. Thanks for those that turned up early to see us, hope everyone had a brilliant night, and hope to see you all again soon
  9. Kathryn Sawyers was ace, although sometimes i think she tries to distort her voice a bit too much at points. The 10 min one riff intro was a bit much, and looked too much like it was planned down to the last detail, stayed for one more song, then left to flyer for jetplane gig. not a fan of echomind, although you can give thier drummer credit for wearing a mogwai t-shirt
  10. SEA are definitely on first then Turning13 (i think) then Gloria Flaw, Then Jetplane Doors at 7, so i'm guessing first band will be kicking off somewhere between 7.15 and 7.45
  11. Sat 1st May at Tram way Galsgow Andre Williams- like watching your randy grandad mumble his way through explaining who he'd fuck nowadays to some dirty old rock n roll, Fennez (sp?)- really impressed with him, although he cut his set short because the sound guy kept turning his levels down. Big anthemic wall of sound Explosions in the sky- Holy poop, still not recovered from their performance. They were in the smallest room, and i heard there was a massive queue of folk trying to get in. I was right at the front, and got my ears blown off brutally. played a lot of tracks from their earlier album, nice. And they were throwing themselves about at the heavy bits, lovely. Fourtet and Explosions overlapped, so didn't get to see Fourtet. boo I heard kid 606 was brilliant on the sunday
  12. You better all get there early! Also, think we'll have some copies of Quintana to give away to anyone who wants one. since our new ep is coming out in a month or so.
  13. definitely going!! I thought it was in Drummonds though??
  14. aww fuck fuck fuck again!!! I've got a presentation to do on the Tues 11th May now. So here's the re-scheduled plan... Go to Glasgow on the monday, as i think there's a T-Break Seminar then, flyer for our gig at Tuts that night, then get last train home. Do Presentation on the tues morn, then go down to Glasgow again, and see Turning13. Then back up the road on Wed to do the exam on the thurs morn, then back down the road to Glasgow to play, then back to Aberdeen on the Fri to work. Phew!!! this sounds stupid doesn't it!?!? Fuck it though, you only live once, especially if you're an existentialist like me.
  15. Aww Fuck!! just found out i have an exam the same day as our T-Break heat, this has happened two years in a row now!! and i only had one exam to do this year as well, fuck fuck fuck. Looks like my graduation will have to hold on for another couple of months

Glasgow May 2nd- Thinking about a F4AF ticket so i can see OneLineDrawing. prob leave after seeing Jonah May3rd- Jetplane gig (May 5th Scotland game) May 6th- Orwell gig at Drakes May8th- Moorings gig May 10th - 14th T-Break- goin to go and hand out flyers for the three days before we play the thurs, also going to all the seminars. 20. I actually thought the Will Young cover of it wasn't all that bad :O
  21. SEA aren't confirmed yet, Steve T13 mentioned that we were going to be asked when i saw him yesterday, but we haven't recieved an official invite yet. we await in anticipation though.
  22. I think all the SEA guys are coming down on the tues for the seminar, so we'll definitely be in attendance to cheer you on, then get hammered afterwards!! We're playing the thurs 13th leg if anyone wants to come along. bought the new OneLinDrawing album today Jeff, absoulutely brilliant.
  23. 13th May - King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow Dirtbox, Venetian Love Triangle, Small Enclosed Area, Spindrift, Poor Old Ben, Chase Should be a joyous night, where we'll get hammered afterwards. Please join us. We'll all be going down to the seminar on the tues, then staying till fri morn. Which means we'll be at the heat on tues nite where Turning 13 will be rocking the house down. followed by another drunken nite no doubt. Also, completely unrelated.... but buy the OneLineDrawing new album, the Volunteers. Almost brought me to tears on the train back to Elgin today.
