Mr.Mike
just heard "storm" by these guys and I really liked it. can anyone suggest more of their stuff that is worth checking out? Also, i was told they've split up, is that true?
NARC
The one ive got has a weird title, "f#0a" or something like that, has a black cover. Its really good; "lift your skinny fists" is excellent too. I wasn't aware they had split up though
nullmouse
"lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven" has Storm on it, and is my favourite album. The way I understand it is GSY!BE are on hiatus while some of the members concentrate on the Silver Mount Zion project. Their albums are well worth checking out, too. lepeep
I'd say that Slow Riot For Zero Kanada was the best work ever. (the one with the jewish writing on the front + a molotov cocktail inside).and for me, the first LP (Fainfinityfitivver) is the best LP...after that they started to get far too anal...buy both on amazon for buttons ;http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000007T2Z/102-2233744-2436139?v=glance

RossP
Mum are excellent. I missed them playing Glasgow last April, but made up for it the next day by seeing Explosions in the Sky at Tramway.Just rubbing the salt in deeper Maxi........ unbroken
explain to me what it is like...Kinda Sigur Ros - ish right.....but with female vocalists yeah?xXscottXx
RossP
yeah a bit like that, but they use more electronica stuff as well
lepeep
I'd say mum were more like boards of canada than anything..."twee electronica" (but lovely, not a "bad twee")...a bit like matmos too, without the icelandic vocals (think bjork on her "girliest" of songs...) They have two albums out, the first is light but eery, the second considerably darker. Yeah, more like Sigur Ros, but less cloying.

ragudave
Mum - a strange but nice blend of Boards of Canada, Bjork with Matos, Sigur Ros and Four Tet. Very atmospheric in an Icelandic sort of way....

So no clue at all to the potential for new material or tours any time soon.
