fatboy Posted March 16, 2011 Report Share Posted March 16, 2011 it's all to familar to us that you watch a film that you forget the name of or just don't know the nameI seen a random film on bbc 2 few years ago late at night, had bob hoskins in it, every night he would make a huge roast dinner and all the trimmings for himself. flashbacks to his childhood reveal he was in a cooking program hosted by some bird. he had all the old props or whatever from the show to make his dinner. he comes across a young girl and looks after her for some reason. she menstruates on the bed when bob is in the garden. I think he dies at the end of the film, but cannot confirm.It was not a porno.If someone can assist given that incredibly poor description I'll be amazed.2 -Recent film, as in the last couple of years. Have never actually seen it, only a web-trailer for it (so therefore not sure it actually was produced/released). The name is a year ('2012' or similar) about people who are inhibited at things they excel in in life (strong people are weight down with chains and weights, for example). ca_gere Posted March 16, 2011 Report Share Posted March 16, 2011 Here's one that i'm sure noone can help me with because I remember so little: A black (as in African American) comedy about a ladies man who gets into sticky situations with birds he's banging. All I can remember is the plot being very post-modern in that they reference the fact they are in a film a lot. I think the film is named after the lead character and he plays himself as an actor in it. It was kinda too self-referential and ultimately made very little sense. A proper cripple, wheelchair, little legs, had to move himself about on the bed using only his arms, carried about all over the shop by his servants. davewarden Posted March 16, 2011 Report Share Posted March 16, 2011 one thats been bugging me for ages but I doubt anyone will have a name as its a chinese film that was on channel 4 late night around christmas time, around 7/8 years ago.Basically set in the early 1900's in beijing (I think), about a poor family who's daughter is stuck having to look after her elderly parents. Main thing I remember is a scene where someone (her younger brother I think) is rushed to hospital because he ate loads of dumplings, drunk some water which proceeded to make said dumplings expand and he almost died as a result.Like I say, I dont hold much hope and may have made the whole film up.
