Alkaline
Just quit my highly stressful well paid job working away due to missing my wife and kids too much and realising that there is a lot more to life than paying off my mortgage. Hurrah!Been looking for a new job at home and my father in-law is in the same game as me - so I asked him to see if there was anything going at the company - working where i had worked for several years previously. Turns out there is an ideal job for me there - good money, decent prospects and working for the same client as I was previously - Only problem is that he would be my boss!I get on really well with him and he seems really keen but is suggesting we should maybe keep it quiet initially. What's your thoughts??? 'No chance' or 'Fuck-Aye!'Go for it. I did it once, nobody knew my boss knew me. Went swimmingly.
Lemonade
As long as you get on with the guy, and don' take advantage (ie no fucking around) then I'm sure it'll be fine. All your new colleagues will inevitably hate you though, and accuse your father in law of nepotism every time you get a promotion or a pay rise. Monster Zero
I don't see why it would make a difference unless you have an already strained relationship which doesn't sound like the case...maybe just avoid flirting or more with any female employees.... Guest Motleyal
My mate works with his father -in-law who is a senior buyer for an oil firm. One of my mate's colleagues came up to him one day and remarked "so you're Mr X's son in law? Does he wear his cunt hat all the time or only monday to friday?"If you go and work for your father-in-law be prepared for comments like that.ps. before some bastard says it, mr x is not his real name.
