lepeep
I had a problem with one of the Ian Livingstone Fighting Fantasy books (maybe Deathtrap Dungeon) where there was a page with an image of some undead skullfaced horror that was shit yer pants scary. I'd scream everytime I flicked onto the page. And I got quite upset 'cos I couldn't stop the hawt elf lady dying (sad face)I started playing "rings of Kether" the other day...and I've got "freeway fighter lined up!"....I was 13 or so when I first played these...I too had a problem with the zombie pics...Fighting Fantasy Gamebookshttp://www.fightingfantasygamebooks.com/files/artwork/artwork6.pdfand here's the Iain McCaig blog!lines and colors :: a blog about drawing, painting, illustration, comics, concept art and other visual arts Iain McCaig
Skull Commander
House Of Hell (I think thats what it's called) was the scariest one by far. That book had the lot from monsters to a Devil Worshiping sect. Think I still have it somewhere....*EDIT*House of Hell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaTheres the scary bastard in all it's glory!

Ithaca
Clowns always scared the shit out of me when I was a kid (mother soon found out little Ithaca and the circus were a bad combination!), and in all honesty they still put a wee chill down my spine. This thread got me thinking about fears and phobias. Anyway, looked on trusty google to find out that the fear of clowns is known as Coulrophobia. Thought I'd share a wee A-Z of other 'recognised' phobias with you lovely people...Arachibutyphobia - Fear of peanut butter on the roof of the mouth.Bogyphobia - Fear of bogies or the bogeyman.Caligynephobia - Fear of beautiful women.Dutchphobia - any guesses people?!Eurotophobia - Fear of female genitalia.Geniophobia - Fear of chins. This should not be confused with......Genophobia - Fear of sex.Hypengyophobia - Fear of responsability.Ithyphallophobia - Fear of seeing, thinking about or having an erect penis.Judeophobia - Fear of Jews.Kathisophobia - Fear of sitting down.Levophobia - Fear of things on the left side of the body.Melophobia - Fear of hatred of music.Novercaphobia - Fear of your step-mother.Ouranophobia - Fear of heaven.Panophobia - Fear of everything (there's ALWAYS one!)Ranidaphobia - Fear of frogs.Spheksophobia - Fear of wasps.Trishaidekaphobia - Fear of the number 13.Urophobia - Fear of urine or urinating.Vitricophobia - Fear of step-father.Wiccaphobia - Fear of witches.Xanthophobia - Fear of the colour yellow.Zeusophobia - Fear of God or Gods.Couldn't find any beginning in F, Q, or Y (any suggestions?). Chris
I'm pretty sure the people in charge of naming phobias enjoy fucking with the people who are scared of things. Mainly due to examples like the aforementioned long word and palindrome phobias. To be honest, if it was me I'd do the same.

Surfer_Rosa
I used to have a fear of getting "eaten" by escalators if I didn't step off them quick enough when I was young. But I also find out last week that walking down a escalator that's stopped moving, feels horrible and wrong.
