Scootray
One cannot describe one's self as not being a toff. One is perceived to be a toff by their peers.

Captain America
Bolts performance in the 100m final was nuts. He wasn't even trying last 15metres! Still got a WR.
Scootray
That was an awesome 100m final.I remember watching him in the heats, had the same mentality of switching off because he was so far in front. Brilliant to watch.Johnson's reaction to it was quite funny too.

Alkaline
Alas, the lovely Kelly Sotherton dropped the ball big time in her earlier events and even grabbing second in her final even wasn't enough to get her a bronze. Poor lass
Cloud
Alas, the lovely Kelly Sotherton dropped the ball big time in her earlier events and even grabbing second in her final even wasn't enough to get her a bronze. Poor lass I was really hoping she'd win gold, she really seems like she'd deserve it. All credit to her for saying that she'll be in London though and not giving up Her Javelin wasn't too bad either compared to the old Sotherton's woeful attempts, but she just didn't pull it off in the long jump or high jump On a related note, what the hell is going on with the judging at these games? I just watched China win another gold in the gymnastics, and the Chinese winner was clearly nowhere near as good as the American - but they got the same score, with the Chinese one winning on a tie break? It's clearly obvious that something is amiss - even to the point where all other countries were hugging each other and being friendly, yet there was a very clear dislike between them and the Chinese. Paranoid Android
Another great day for team GB in Beijing Chris Hoy is just phenomenal. For his specialist event to be removed from the olympics and then to adapt and win gold in 3 other different events is amazing. The silver in the high jump was a nice suprise.16 Golds now, could be a couple more to come at least. The girl in the bmx competition (who's name I've forgotten) and Philips Idowu in the triple jump are both big favourites. Hopefully we could get gold from at least one of the three boxers left in the competition. THey've set a very high standard to beat in 2012

delboy
watched some of the BMX racing and found it quite addictive! The GB girlie is in with a good shout of getting the gold.
KimyReizeger
Well, anyone else finding it pretty un-absorbing? Track and athletics lack the context that makes sport enjoyable to watch, testing one skill at a time. Why is Bolt that incredible? The record has always been broken at every games. Why would this be any different. Two interesting things:cycling 'sprint' (I think). Two competitors, two laps round the dome. The first lap is basically spent psyching each other out, jostling for position before someone takes the plunge only to be overtaken by the superior Chris Hoy.And TT of course:BBC SPORT | Olympics | Table Tennis | Video - Croatian action drives Chiles crazy
Chris
Why is Bolt that incredible? The record has always been broken at every games. Why would this be any different. The 200m record has stood for 12 years, so obviously you're wrong.I believe it's how easy he made it look that's so incredible.
KimyReizeger
Right. ...though I think the Sun rigged it because his name puns so well.
Paranoid Android
Micaheal Johnson's record up until Bolt's emergence looked as if it would stand forever, it was so far ahead of what anyone else could achieve. Bolt was running flat out in the final to beat the record unlike in 100m where he jogged the final 10 metres and still broke the previous record, which was already his.The last time the 100m record was broken at an Olympics was in Atlanta in 1996.To win both events in world record times is unbelievable.
