chilli
Interesting Music are quite delighted to present their 2007 TriptychFestival show:-Saturday 28th April 2007The TunnelsCarnegies Brae AberdeenDoors 7.30pm (1st on 8pm)Ticket are available now from One UP Records Belmont Street Aberdeen oronline at http://www.triptychfestival.com or phone the ticket line 0870 220 1116All formats 9 + Booking FeeOR if available, Cash on the door on the night 10featuring 65daysofstatic (Monotreme Records)Kling Klang (Rock Action Records)Paper Cut Out (Jealous)65daysofstatic (Monotreme Records)Rock plus dance plus electronica equals 65daysofstatic a precociousmath-rock computation whose neo-industrial, sci-fi drumnglitch is amasterly, fervid dish best served live: theyre visually stupefying, aurallyextortionate, anatomically chaotic. They are bloody magnificent. Presentlyholed up somewhere in Scotland recording their much-anticipated thirdexposition the follow-up to their vigorous Monotreme debut, The Fall ofMath (2004), and its muscular epilogue, One Time For All Time (2006)65daysofstatic are a self-professed four-way integration comprising TheBeggar, The Viking, The Boy and The Fro. They perpetually confound andarride with a strapping, startling algebraic equation of leaden, progressive, gritty axe-mastery; oblique drums and samples; almightydexterity. The 65 kids return to the scene of their best ever Aberdeen showin The Tunnels, with the promotors who gave them their 1st two dates ever inScotland. With a grand visual show which is going to compliment their newset, this just could be their finest Aberdeen moment.http://www.myspace.com/sixtyfivedaysofstatichttp://www.65daysofstatic.com/Kling Klang (Rock Action)Liverpool's inter-kosmos kraut-punk voyagers Kling Klang are an off-kilterelectronic five piece whose brawny drumming fortifies their brawlingfour-way synthesiser love. Signed to Mogwai's stalwart Rock Action imprint,Kling Klang emerged from a three-year hiatus in 2006, and swiftly dispatchedThe Esthetik of Destruction a diverting, extrovert rock exposition whoseheavy electronica and sci-fi psych-rock further heralded a muscular returnto form onstage http://www.myspace.com/superpositionPaper Cut Out (Jealous Records)Paper Cut Out are from Newcastle Upon Tyne, they often often lazilycategorised as post-rock, their music has been more accurately described as'tightly controlled chaos', and 'near unintelligible yet strangelycaptivating'. In an age of tamed 'disco' punk and rock music Paper Cut Outshare the uncompromising ambition of Beefheart, Monk, Ayler and The JesusLizard. They offer an unapologetic commitment to complexity, creatingindividualist, often brutally polymetric arrangements and vocal passageswhilst retaining the urgency and immediacy of hard rock. A compelling liveband, their performances 'disconcerting and confrontational'.'Never mind stage presence, this band have venue presence'.http://www.jealousrecords.com/http://www.myspace.com/interestingmusic

Guest idol_wild
I think 9 is a bit pricey, but the bands, I'm sure, have the ability to command quite a fee. I do hope to be at this one - for Kling Klang if nothing else!

I do hope to be at this one - for Kling Klang if nothing else! I think it was 8 or 9 for 65days @ Moshulu the last time & that was with some electro guy in support, so for 9 plus the superb Kling Klang, I think its great value. I saw 65days @ the Tunnels before that & they were awesome. We will certainly be in for this

Ollie
9 is a bit pricey but I guess 65 days are sleeping in bigger hotels nowadays.
stuartmaxwell
EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH9 pounds is not pricey for this gig.THREE touring acts65days are a big band these days, lots of radio 1 airplay. they come with an outstanding audio visual experience.KLING KLANG are quite a well known name in the UK and afar, various tours with mogwai etc under their belts and records out on Rock Action.I cant see how people will pay 8 to see em last time, but grudge paying a 1 more for this TRYPTYCH event.3 per touring band
Ollie
stuart maxwell proud sponsor of Tryptych...will be a good gig though. 3 pound a band is good actually. I take back my earlier misguided 9 comment.the shame of it.

Elizabeth
RIGHT.I dunno if I'll get more feedback/useful information on the myspazz but I figured I'd ask here first. So, on my tickets (both the 65dos and Micah P Hinson ones) for the triptych events, it says, "Over 18s Only" BUT, this is not advertised on the posters or... anywhere else, really. What's going on, is this actually an over 18s thing? Elizabeth
I asked at One Up; they said quite confidently that it was 18+.Forgot to ask Tunnels when I was there, I'll ask next time....Unless, there's a fo' sho' thing on it here? Also, if it is; I don't want to sell my tickets. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME? :'(
