Chris
Anyone else go this yet? There's a few omissions I'd have liked to have seen (say it aint so for example) on it but it's still an excellent package. The booklet with the liner notes for each song in the special edition is superb and the DVD is amazing. Fantastic release if you're a fan. Skull Commander
Yup. Have been listning to the album for a couple of weeks, but I'm definatly going to buy it, for the ace package and dvd into the bargain. Not just a cheap stopgap, but a worthy release in it's own right.
Steve Temple
I saw that and thought it was the most unnecessary thing in the world, and I haven't even heard them. Then I saw they cover a Cocteau Twins song, and was intrigued. Is that any good?

I've never been one of those fans that buys everything just to be a completist (I didn't buy Back to school as it was nothing but a cynical cash in by the record company, against the band's wishes) but this is a great release. Although probably only if you're already a fan. The band say this is a thank you to the fans, and it feels like it. They could've just released a b-sides comp straight off the singles with no effort and it would sell, but they've actually spent time and put together something actually worth buying. I'd have spent the tenner for the DVD alone quite happily (all their videos, with a couple of live tracks plus some short interview segments and behind the scenes footage), or the CD for the matter. And the cocteau twins song is great, although I don't know the original.
medichi
Excellent. I shall purchase it tomorrow. I too skipped "Back To School", but this looks ace...

Jimmy Lucifer
The Helmet cover is awesome. Is that "Sinatra"? If so that is indeed a righteous cover. Haven't got the album but I recall their covers of "The Chauffer" and "Savory" are rather tasty too. Must get a hold of them.

bladeola
Not hard to order Deftones records from best to worst:1 Adrenaline2 Around the Fur3 White Pony4 Deftones (and that's only because I feel I HAVE to put it on the list, it's fairly dire in my opinion and I WAS a big fan)I was DEFINATELY looking forward to this B-Sides record when I heard about it. PLEASE tell me it has their cover of 'No Ordinary Love' by Sade...It's astounding!
Guest scott cs.
i believe that the Deftones are headlining Taste Of Chaos next year, should anyone be interested.

medichi
1 Adrenaline2 Around the Fur3 White Pony4 Deftones Rubbish! It goes like this:1. White Pony (By FAR the most rounded album)2. Around The Fur3. Adrenaline (Still ace though)4. Deftones (But I do still like this record - champing at the bit for the next one...)However this is why I love this band - there are so many levels and different things for different people. B-side album just bought and awaiting first spin....
Chris
apparently they've started sessions for the new album and it's going to be very aggressive.

Skull Commander
I thought 'Deftones' was a bit rubbiss for the first few months, but now i'd rank it 2nd or 3rd behind around the fur.
