Paranoid Android
From what I've heard "Age of Adz" is either one of the best albums of the year or one of the worst albums of all time. I haven't listened to it myself yet though. Where do you stand?

I haven't listened to it myself yet though. Where do you stand? It could be both, depending on your oppinion of 2010 albums as a whole, best of a bad bunch and all that. Its not either though. Good album, but doesnt come across as great quite yet.Field Music - Tones of TownSufjan Stevens - Age od AdzElton John & Leon Russell - The Union
Paranoid Android
bad bunch? It's been a pretty great year. Loads of albums I really like.On the sufjan album I've heard from a couple others that it has a few great tracks but listening to the whole thing is a real chore.I still haven't got round to listening to it myself yet though. KarmaTsunami
I agree, this year has been ace for music. I'm just not that taken in by Age of Adz though.
Paranoid Android
I started listening to Age of Adz and ended up skipping to the next track frequently and didn't make it to the end. I couldn't face the 25 minute closer. Although I am intrigued to hear what I'm now sure must be the terrible auto-tuned vocals.

Old Gold
I really like Age of Adz. The arrangement and more aggressive approach blow my mind, although I suppose if anyone was hoping for a bunch of tracks like Chicago and Romulus they'd be pretty disappointed. Paranoid Android
They don't have to be like Chicago. Just good. I've gone off Illinoise quite a bit too. I loved in when it came out, but I'd probably just skip few a few favourite tracks these days.
KarmaTsunami
It could very well be a grower, but I don't know that it would grow enough to make my top five from this year. Got a hold of Codeine's 'Frigid Stars' after reading about it in the Musical Rediscovery thread and although it is bloody depressing it's a great album. What else should I get a hold of by them? What else should I get a hold of by them? The White Birch is a bit of a classic. I think it's the album where they really nailed the 'Codeine sound' and has some amazing songs like 'Tom' or 'Sea'. Barely Real is good too - it's more varied but perhaps they try to do too many things on it. I reckon they're best just being really slow and bleak sounding.
