  1. My DSL has developed a fault and I have no idea what the problem is. It turns on fine, all the valves light up, but it doesn't produce any sound (aside from a low level buzz) until I crank the volume up. Once I do that, I can then roll the volume back and it works fine as if nothing was wrong with it! But I don't know why it requires that initial boost. Never had any problems with it before. If the problem can be fixed at home it would be benificial, seeing as I have a show next week and can't really afford to have it away for repairs as the turn around time would be too long. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  2. Everything is already wired bar the removal of the tone control. If you could provide a quote for that, that'd be great? Although might have to wait until March , as we have a couple of shows coming up, and it's my only guitar these days. Mailed the guys about a scratch plate and might send them a tracing rather than the actual plate itself. Having said that I already have a Warmoth scratch plate for it, but the reason I don't want to fit it is because the scratch plate needs ammending to take the bridge, and the screw holes don't match the guitar. All a bit of a faff really. I spent hours setting the intonation and action, as Jazzmaster bridges are traditionally a pain in the ass... the grub screws on the saddles had a habit of coming loose especially as I always tune down to D standard or drop C. And although I have rectified the problem, It's always on the back of my mind when i play it. Looking at a warmoth custom mustang bridge to rectify the problem, so all that will need adjusted again anyway!
  3. Looking to completely remove the tone control from my Jazzmaster, as I have no need for it, but I am not very keen to do the work myself in case I fuck it up. Not very good with electrics - in fact I have no idea what I am doing. Also, as I only have a bridge humbucker (Seymour Duncan invader), as the previous owner already removed the neck pickup, and removed the selector, I need to get a custom scratch plate. Mainly because the duct tape which currently plugs all the gaps in scratch plate doesn't do the guitar any justice. Ideally I'd want a tortoise shell scratch plate, but every major stockist only seems to sell the fender scratch plates with space for 2 humbuckers. I already tried Warmoth, but the scratch plates they sell don't accommodate the Black top's bridge. Once finished this guitar will look awesome, but really struggling to find suppliers. Anyone suggest anyone local? Already tried imported instruments and no joy. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
  4. I completed it 2 days ago (main storyline) and am now on the side missions. One tip is that you should complete all side missions before you complete the story, because if you don't, some of them disappear on completion of the story and you cant achieve full synchronisation and get all the weapons etc. Also - the ending is nuts. The first 6-odd hours are spent playing as Connors father, then young Connor, then present day. Eventually you do get to massacre Redcoats with a Tomahawk though. Ace game, superb graphics, mental story and the game play is awesome (although some missions are a little tedious). Storyline is spread out over 30 years and it's just a fucking huge game. I hope there's another.

    Pet Hates!

Thing is, her voice is that annoying, I probably couldn't fuck her. It'd kill my boner.

I hope she gets alcohol poisoning for brushing her teeth with "a bottle of Jack". Hate.

    Pet Hates!

My puppy. It chews EVERYTHING. Skirtings: ruined. 2 guitar cables: ruined. New vans: ruined. Lucky boxers: ruined. New leather suite: ruined. All the cat's toys: ruined. Carpets: ruined. Howls all night. On top of that my garden smells like urine and dugshite. Worst of all - sex life: pretty much gone for now as all we do is look after the fucking dog therefore shattered all the time. Hurry up and grow up so I can have my life back. I do love the thing, but it's a royal pain in the arse at the moment and is rapidly becoming worse as it's approaching neutering age. God only knows how annoying children are going to be.
  9. Get in touch with Cavalcades. Their van has a hole in the floor you can piss through.

    Lames to Fame

Had a drink with Dan and Derek from Alkaline trio in Cathouse in Glasgow 2010. Met that twat Spencer from Made In Chelsea in M&S on Union Street. Utter twat. Saw Madonna outside Hamleys in London (2009 - before she went crazy). Hung out with A Loss For Words loads every time they come to Aberdeen and catch up with them regularly over fb. (although they aint that big i suppose). Sat next to the guitarist from Twin Atlantic in club 2020 - again, arsehole. Met Mike from LTA at Hevy last year and he gave me a can of cider. Met Jerry Only, Robo & Dez Cadena (both ex black flag) when Misfits played Moshulu.

Films which say they will give you answers relating to their prequals/sequals and leave you asking so many questions. Guilty: Prometheous, Paranormal Activity 3... the list goes on. I WANT TO KNOW THE FUCKING ANSWERS.
  12. Our ginger cat disappeared on Saturday and turned up at 3am today. Thought he was dead. That'll teach him to follow us round the woods with the dog. Silly bastard gets lost so easy.
  13. Our white cat (Brian - the asshole cat) has shat in the bath the last 3 days in a row. He has figured out how to open the door so we can't even prevent him from doing it. It's annoying. Louis (the petal cat) keeps getting his ass kicked by a neighbour's cat (unknown which one) and is consistently costing us a fortune in vet bills for injections as you can never take the risk of a cat bite. Keeping him in all the time is out of the question because we both think it's unfair to keep a cat indoors if they are used to going outside. Especially where we live, as it's in the country and they have loads of free space to roam / hunt / have cat fun. We've had both since they were kittens and giving them away (although sometimes considered out of anger) would never happen as they are like bloody kids to us. Advice?

    Peavey 6505

what sort of trades would you be interested in? I've got a 100 watt Marshall JCM 2000 DSL head with brand new valves in it. Amp is only a year old. Or is that too far away on sound compared to your 6505?
  15. To be honest I was a solid COD fan, bought BF3 second hand (annoyed at having to pay a further £9.99 to get an account) and never looked back. It kicks COD straight out of the ball park. Can literally play it for hours without boredom setting in. It's so easy to kill on COD, this provides more of a challenge, especially using a sniper rifle. When you actually take someone down in one shot, it's really rewarding. As for L.A. Noire, enjoying it a lot. So many good games coming out though... new Assasin's Creed looks incredible, as does Aliens Colonial Marines and Resi 6. Things to do while my bird works nightshift!
  16. Battlefield 3, L.A. Noire and Silent Hill collection. Goodbye social life.
  17. Nah they really are not. Sulky bastards.
  18. Trying to introduce our 2 cats to our new puppy. Proving to be very difficult.
  19. I watched Platoon last night for the 50th (ish) time. No matter how many times I watch it, it just keeps getting better.
