I discovered the Velvet Underground thanks to a Tom Penny section on a skateboarding video. Venus in Furs was playing and I'd never heard anything like it before. It was a game changer for me and really opened me up to alternative music. A true legend was Lou, always unique!

I know Rustico don't do them. They are all about the pasta, something I have absolutely no quarrels with. I guess I find it odd in this case as Jamie seems to be quite into his pizzas, one of my favourite pizza recipes is from one of his books.

Captain America: The First Avenger Not what I was expecting at all. I was expecting big dumb fun with loads of 'Murican patriotism but it wasn't like that at all. Turned out to be quite an enjoyable film with some great action sequences and a decent enough story holding it all together. Worth a watch if you're a fan of the Iron man films. Ending was a bit disappointing for me personally as it did nothing but set up the inevitable sequel with a very loose cliffhanger. 3/5 Rambo Despite owing all the other Rambo films (on VHS of course) I've never gotten round to watching Stallone donning the bandanna and taps aff combo once more. Although he brings back the bandanna, his tap remains firmly oan as he slaughters the Burmese army to rescue a group of Christian missionary types from some sort of concentration/sex/army camp. OTT violence and the stereotypical portrayal of the Burmese, you're either a poor helpless villager or a mass murdering, gang raping shit head, was exactly what I was expecting. 3/5 Ghost in The Shell The 1995 version, not the 2.0 one. After a day of watching some films I hadn't seen before I decided to watch one I've seen countless times before. Slick cyberpunk Anime set in the not too far future where three special agent types investigate a mysterious mind hacker. Great visuals, great story and some of the coolest looking action sequences. It's influence on other work is clear and it's easy to see why so many people have yearned to emulate it. 5/5

Distinct lack of gear chat in this thread. I've had a shuffle around (again). added a boost to give the muff a bit more oomph and stuck them in an effects loops so I can bring them on together. Taken my modulation pedals off the board as I wasn't really using them. I'm all about distortion and time based stuff. Tuner > Compressor > DD3 > (distortion loop) Artec dual booster > NYC Muff (distortion loop) Looper pedal > Danelctro Delay > EHX Tremolo > Boss - RV3 I've got some 80's Japanese delay unit I need to incorporate some how as it has no switch. Probably with another loop pedal.

I felt the prison battle near the end of season 3 was a severe anti climax. Especially when you compare it to what happens in the comic books. New seasons shaping up to be a corker. Going home to watch episode 2 tonight!

Seems to be a few folk sending him fake email addresses and phone numbers to organise getting kitchen. Clearly one of those, pay a deposit and then never hear from them again jobs.
