Tunnels two might be a good shout.

I don't think bandcamp will replace myspace or facebook. Bandcamp is a great hosting, streaming and promotional tool for your music, but you have to bring the audience to it, whereas with facebook and myspace you already have a worldwide audience there.

No. I am not. I know they used to have this rule. I set up our band page a while ago and when confronted by this thought... "sod that!" Upon returning to the page more recently I found that I could now upload music, so I presume one of the other boys did it. Facebook also refuse to give you a short, personalise url [facebook.com/yourband] for band pages unless your band is "significant" making it more difficult for smaller artists to advertise their page without buying advertising from facebook. Facebook in general is run by a complete bunch of cunts but it's by far the most popular social networking site at the moment so you've got to learn to overlook that.
-
It's possible you need to authorize your page by scanning your passport or birth certificate and sending it in to facebook to prove that you are really you and the authorized representative of The Underkills.
-
Go to your page. Click "Edit Page". Go to "Music Player". Edit. +Add a track.

Sometimes when a thought of someone crosses my mind I feel compelled to say their name aloud.
-
Or you could be a little more pro-active and post the link, bringing your band to the audience rather than waiting for the audience to come to you. Up to the individuals involved I guess.

Our one is here: Point of Origin on Facebook! Where's yours?
-
I don't think there's anything wrong with it

I really wasn't taking it too seriously... it's just a bit of fun.

I'm always quite fascinated by the "similar to" artists bit on last.fm To find your artist profile just go to last.fm and search for your current band. Depending on what info folk have uploaded about you there may be quite a bit of info there. Or not! At the bottom of the page should be your "similar artists" and links to them. On last.fm Point of Origin have been declared similar to the following artists: Stayover The X-Certs Liber8 Alyssa's Wish Quik 10 Easy Wishes At Long Last But who are yours?

Whatever you feel about them, they make sense to me

Best of luck to you. -
Hi folks, My band Point of Origin are playing the Fat Hippy night on Feb 26th. I'll let the other bands do their own promo cos that way we'll get to see who the best promoter is, but you should all pop down to see us anyway. We are a rock band with pop, rock and pop influences - y'know the sort. Plenty of strings to our bow 'n the like, heaps of harmonies and world beating songs! Familiar poasters like masel and Milner (now banned) are in the band, as is Ryan (formerly of Point of Origin) and Stephen (DJs on a Sunday in Exodus). It's sure to be a fine, sweet and savoury treat, so dinna miss it or yi winna forgive yersel! Also, here's an old photo of us in a barn. And a newer one from The Lemon Tree Point of Origin on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

None whatsoever, and very little on it. If you're looking to form a band more than just write songs, there's something to be said for enjoying just being in a band for a wee while, making music for the joy of it and bonding as a group. I've often found this to be one of the most rewarding and exciting stages for a band, and if done correctly it will always give you a 'home' to return to. Whether on your own or in a group there's nothing quite like writing something that you enjoy. It's a good feeling. Once you've put your stuff out there it'll never truly be your own in quite the same way. You can quickly lose sight of what your music is all about once external factors start to effect the mix like; girls, girlfriends, reviews, egos, drink, or most ridiculous of all - what some guys said about you on a message board. But if you start a band in a way that feels right to your gut, even if you lose your way later there's always hope you can remember where you came from and take it all back home. So, a little of an aside there... but... What I'm trying to say is that there's got to be a balancing act and a judgement call made. You've got to already be well prepared with most of the elements of the band in place before you go putting the cart before the horse. Unless you're all experienced musicians and have played for years then maybe it's best to play the game a bit safer. What I was talking about was being in a position where you're mostly there and where you could be there, but you feel like you're stuck fast and things aren't moving forwards, that's when an extra bit of incentive can jolt you from inactivity into crossing the finishing line. Your instincts will tell you when that moment arrives so don't put your trust me or ask your band to do it either. Put it in yourselves.

To give the flash site a platform from which to launch? As for the music, I think Hog should go for something with a little more oommmph, something that's a wee bit closer to his own heart. A nice piece from Element 106 would do the trick. Hi, my name is Scott and welcome to my website. Here are my photos... and here.... here is my music.

Should post this in the News Announcements forum too no? Sound like a Scottish Weezer influenced by 10 Easy Wishes and Magicdrive. Not bad.
