  1. Anyone heading to this? I'm pretty chuffed at this news, wasn't bargaining on them playing such tiny venues. Jack's Mannequin tickets King Tuts Wah Wah Hut Glasgow, , Directions, seating chart. Official Ticketmaster site. if anyone wants tickets, although i'd be quick!
  2. Possibly, but what I will say is that Kashmir Red do pretty well up here, and when we played with The Locals last month they brought an absolute shit-ton of people. I think if the four bands put a fair bit of effort into this, it might pan out alright. Good luck to them, either way.
  3. Can you frantically fail to find a hotel? Also, the absence of punctuation in her column makes me want to punch her in the throat.
  4. In no order. Tool Metallica Funeral for a Friend Neil Young Jimmy Eat World Murder By Death The Gaslight Anthem Alkaline Trio The National David Ford Honourable mentions to Bad Religion, Rancid, Billy Talent, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Turner, Brand New and Incubus.
  5. Wouldn't work. She's a total hound, remember?
  6. I didn't really like I See Shapes when I saw them with Lights Action a few months back, but Be A Familiar are great. I might nip along to this one!
  7. I'd say we've had one of the stronger setlists from the tour then. I think if I could have added anything it would have been Four Strong Winds or Johnny Magic, but I'm not gonna start complaining considering how brilliant the selection was last night. I think someone else mentioned Are You Ready For The Country. Wasn't expecting that, great to hear!
  8. For all I saw of Laura Marling I thought she was inoffensive enough but wildly unsuited to a venue that size. Neil Young was just amazing. That setlist was killer. Cortez The Killer? Spriit Road? MANSION ON THE HILL? Yes please. My dad got well into it too, which is always a plus.
  9. According to an email from the AECC, Laura Marling at 7.30, Neil Young 8.30 til 10.30/11ish. Will probably try to catch a bit of Laura Marling, I'm not a big fan but it'll be interesting to see how she fares in a venue that size.
  10. National cover - yusssssssss. See you down there. Anyone else nipping along to this one?
  11. Yeah, I thought it sounded great in principle (bought it for 2 in Fopp Glasgow on a whim having not seen it before) but thought the concept had the potential to go either way. Fortunately, the whole hard-boiled dialogue thing is handled with so much authenticity that it couldn't fail. Great watch
  12. Frost/Nixon is on my LoveFilm list, I'm really looking forward to seeing it. I can never remember if I mentioned it on here or not but I recently watched Brick. I absolutely loved it. Anyone else seen it/liked it/hated it? Also, in terms of being insubstantial and trashy but unbelievably entertaining, you can't beat Drag Me To Hell.
  13. Laura Marling is support on Wednesday. Not amused, but I don't suppose it actually matters who's support. Can't wait for this one...
  14. Brilliant! The album is about 70% hilarious. A couple of filler-ish type ones but I sort of expected that. Party All Day (Fuck All Night) is particularly chucklesome.
  15. Glad someone picked this up. I'll probably come down if I'm around!
  16. Dependably ace. Good work, and see you at the moorings in october!
  17. Everyone was ace tonight. Static in the City did well, especially considering the turnout wasn't spectacular. Lights Action were dependably ace, for my money. New stuff is brilliant too. I had only listened to the odd Telegraphs song before last night, but I really enjoyed them too. The male/female vocal thing works a treat. One of Moshulu's best nights of music in a long time!
  18. Was pretty cool to hear Don't Give Up So Easily blaring in HMV the other day, not to mention the massive light-up advert for the album behind the main till!
  19. This is all totally ace. Hats off to Mr Learmonth on this one. I'd never read his column before and this was absolutely spot on. I am now going through the article archives!
  20. It's a relatively early show on account of the clubnight after. Doors are at 7pm. More information as and when it arises. Upon closer inspection, all these bands are ace. Telegraphs are brilliant, and I'm a long-standing Lights Action fan. Get on it folks!
  21. I really love MC Lars. The Graduate was a brilliant album. Points especially to "Signing Emo" and "Space Game". Good shout!
  22. We had a great time at this show. Thanks to everyone who came down. Quite enjoyed Post War Years, I'm not a big fan of that sort of thing generally but they're a tight, enjoyable live act. Farewell Singapore were band of the night for me, just brilliant. The way they opened their set was particularly ace. Good night all round, so thanks to AGP for booking us again!
  23. Another one? Is this a 4-act bill then aye? Can not wait for this. Been listening to very little other than Bright Light Ballads for the last two weeks or so!
