  1. Tickets on the go for this yet? I'll definitely head along.
  2. I cannot stress enough how brilliant this will be. ASF's record is just ace.
  3. I'm hoping I can make it to this, that lineup is pretty brilliant.
  4. This was aaaaaaaaace. Got in during Dividing The Silence. Not really my kind of thing but enjoyed a couple of the breakdowns etc. Ascension were, for me, band of the night. Amazing technical ability right across the board with the tunes to match. Can't pretend I didn't love hearing Dreamland either, haha! Also, Broken Melody were pretty ace to boot.
  5. Thanks man! A good time was certainly had by all the people we brought. Encouragingly, they all had positive things to say about all the bands too, which is great, and kind of in keeping with the point of the Exposure nights! By the way Calum, I have to say, you really know what you're doing in this department. Probably the best-organised gig I've been involved in. Hats off and all that!
  6. That's pretty amazing stuff, congratulations!
  7. They are unforgivably bad. Hollywood Undead are almost as bad...
  8. Some very niche choices in there. He was saying he'd never DJed before. I enjoyed hearing Johnny Cash's Four Strong Winds, but truth be told I didn't know much of what he played! Nice, approachable guy. As for the bands, it was my first time seeing Panda Eyes and I thought they were terrific. Singer (don't know the name, sorry!) has a great voice and just generally really enjoyable music. I thought The Lorelei and Sons O' The Soil were both absolutely quality as well, a cracking mixture of excellent musicianship and real onstage charisma. All in all, I thought it was a great night!
  9. I've checked into this, you are correct about Trapped Under Ice! Only the fifth time ever! And what a great song to boot
  10. Nightschool is top drawer, it's my favourite just now. There's not a weak track on there though.
  11. With the possible exception of The Day That Never Comes, All Nightmare Long is probably my favourite from the new record now. That or That Was Just Your Life, which is an absolutely belting opening tune.
  12. The more I think about it, the more I think this is absolutely ridiculous. Terrible attitude covers it, that's a shocking effort.
  13. That's pretty scandalous on their part, really. Poor show.
  14. Aren't there already two threads about this? See you there, all the same
  15. Mate, you are absolutely brilliant.
  16. I can't watch the video just now, but I'd just like to echo Stich's sentiment as regards the fact that Henri Got Cancer is dizzyingly brilliant.
  17. I kind of took Kirk's onstage mannerisms to be more relaxed than complacent. I can see why you saw it like that though. The solo part he played before Nothing Else Matters was blinding I was well up for Machine Head. I don't love them on record but thought they'd do the job, because they tour with Metallica so often. The one song I was actually really up for was Imperium, and it got absolutely drowned in the sound mix. On the whole, pretty dull, although the crowd seemed to really take to them. I'd rather have had another half hour of The Sword, or better still, a different band, like Black Stone Cherry or something. Something a bit more melody driven maybe. Loved pretty much everything about Metallica's performance. I don't really like Fight Fire With Fire that much on record but it sounds better live.
  18. Absolutely belting. Favourites on the night were Of Wolf and Man, For Whom The Bell Tolls, All Nightmare Long, The Day That Never Comes and Master of Puppets. Was surprised to see Turn The Page in the mix, ditto Trapped Under Ice. First time seeing them, loved them for absolutely years, totally ace. For the record, did anyone else think the sound mix for Machine Head was abysmal? Especially for the first couple of tracks?
  19. I'll check this out when I'm on a computer with sound. I never really knew how to take Gallows at all, so interested to hear what the new stuff sounds like.
  20. I got a review copy of this record. It is brilliant.
  21. Thanks for the kind words folks, we enjoyed the show. With only limited knowledge of De Rosa before this gig, I thought they were amazing.
  22. Amazing lineup! Sadly I can't be there, away to Metallica tonight.
  23. I'm stuck at home, otherwise I'd have checked it out. All over the Broken Melody show next month though
