  1. Chuffed to be playing with these guys again, the Drummonds show was totally epic. Great band.
  2. Desperately trying to shwing the evening off work at home so I can come through for this, they were class at the Lemon Tree a few years back!
  3. I'd go along with all of this, for definite. Best indie / rock, I'd stick with The Little Kicks, owing to the fact their album is absolutely superb.
  4. Thought this was absolutely magic. Withered Hand - fairly unobjectionable but by the time he was about two songs from the end, thought he'd pretty much outstayed his welcome. Nothing special, but by no means shite. Little Kicks - Magic. Nice to see Small Talk in the set, I do love that tune. New song was promising as well. Tight as fook too, so all in all, major victory for them! Broken Records - For me, they were absolutely top drawer. Setlist was pretty much right on the money as well, and new songs were exciting. Big thanks to everyone involved in this, one of the best things I've seen up here in ages.
  5. Anticipation levels are through the roof for this. Haven't seen a little kicks show in ages, looking forward to Withered Hand as well, and Broken Records are basically always ace. Incidentally, has anyone heard the new Broken Records EP? Think it's a compilation of old stuff. It's fucking great, either way.
  6. Readers and Writers is such a brilliant tune. Idea Track was a good one, lost count of the amount of times I've seen Idlewild and I've very rarely seen that track live. Also loved Post Electric, and Last Night I Missed All The Fireworks was a total bonus! Continue to find Sparrow and the Workshop a bit uninspiring. Enjoyed them more than I did with Broken Records, but still a little lacklustre I think.
  7. Ace! Throw Heller State on some night and I'll come through especially!
  8. Am I right in saying 11:11 have pulled out of this show? A pity, a steadily improving live act I reckon.
  9. I was at the Dundee show last night and FFAF were on at around half 9, but I reckon it'll be earlier tonight. Incidentally, they are on brilliant form. Xcerts are playing well but their setlist last night was dire.
  10. This one was an absolute pleasure for us. Thought The Form did really well, some hitches early on but they battled through and I thought they did themselves proud, Indian Red Lopez were reliably good and A Genuine Freakshow are probably the best band we've ever played with. Chuffed to bits with the turnout as well, and thanks as ever to Ross and the team for another cracking night, best promoters in town for my money!
  11. New song "Wrench" is totally ace. YouTube - FUNERAL for a FRIEND NEW SONG "WRENCH" "ORIGINAL" Interesting to see that they're thinking of just releasing music in EP form for the next little while. This Year's Most Open Heartbreak is lifted in and out of the set all the time, and has been pretty much for their whole career. I've only ever heard Kiss and Make Up live once, and that was at the Dundee show in '07. That setlist was pretty amazing. The Art of American Football is so good live too. 10.45 Amsterdam Conversations is a belter when they play it too. The last time I saw them was Oct '08 at the ABC, and that set was good for the oldies too, even managed to drop in Novella, which made my night. In terms of old songs/rarities i'd like to see, Moments Forever Faded, Lazarus (In The Wilderness), Storytelling or The Getaway Plan would be ace (although they've pretty much disowned The Getaway Plan, as far as I can remember!). Alvarez frolm Hours is an absolute belter that they've only ever played on one tour (as far as I can recall).
  12. Singles collection is gonna have 10.45 Amsterdam Conversation, This Year's Most Open Heartbreak, Juneau, Escape Artists and Daytime TV on it, so if that's the stuff that floats your boat I'd imagine they'll roll out a good few of those. I've seen this band a lot of times over the years, whatever they play is pretty much okay by me but it's always nice to hear some oldies
  13. Lift, please. Their EP was exceptional. This is great news, I was just getting into Aberdeen bands aged 16ish when they packed in. Very much looking forward to seeing them again!
  14. And some rarities too I believe. This has classic potential.
  15. Count me in on this one! Looking forward to hearing more info.
  16. I can't believe no one is available for this, I'm gutted enough that we can't play it!!
  17. Same, totally ridiculous! Still, I'm really looking forward to seeing them in a venue this small. The new album has some filler tunes on there but it's largely amazing.
  18. How long has that been in place? I saw The Hours there last month and it didn't seem too bad. I pounced on this one, just out of sheer love for this band. Tickets are 12.50 stbf, not too bad.
