  1. I was WELL up for this, properly gutted. Especially since I have a refund on the way from Ticketmaster, which leads me to believe this isn't getting rescheduled. According to the website, Glasgow still stands but typically, I can't go to that. Anyone in the know able to clue me in on this?
  2. A resounding no on that one. I think that's going to be a bonus disc on a reissue of their debut.
  3. He was an utter chode on Buzzcocks. It was actually a joy to see Simon Amstell rip the piss out of him. Adds further fuel to the fire of my theory that anyone wearing sunglasses indoors should be shot on sight, as well. But - even though I like a couple of their tunes - they're one of the very worst examples of the NME-backed band du jour that garner this inexplicable devotion from people. I will be stunned if they make it to album two.
  4. Good point, well made. For example, I'm still trying to figure out Glasgow (and the rest of the country)'s preoccupation with Glasvegas at the minute. A lot of hype for an album that is 60% filler. Scottish it up and you'll be a sensation. Seriously though, I'm looking forward to this now, I was gutted when I realised I couldn't make the Aberdeen leg, so this has all worked out quite charmingly. Never been to a gig at Sleazy's before either, so hurrahs all round.
  5. Brilliant! I feel more educated just from having read that. Happy times. In other happy times-related news, see you in Glasgow!
  6. 8 each, two for 15 if you're a prudent, upmarket, complex new-millennium man who shops in the right places. Fantastic. You familiar with Gaslight? I'll slip you a copy of their newest record. Like a mixture of 90s melodic punk and Born To Run-era Springsteen. MySpace.com - The Gaslight Anthem - New Brunswick, New Jersey - Soul / Punk / Blues - www.myspace.com/thegaslightanthem
  7. Excellent shout my boy. So shall I book us two Gaslight Anthem tickets while the going is good? And would that sofa offer be good for two nights? That way, I can head back down with you after the Little Comets gig, and make my way back up on the Friday. That way I can also get my dose of vitamin Kartta, and it gives us an excuse for Glasgow-centric beverage-tastic fun.
  8. So would Glasgow be December 4th then? Because Stich, I just texted you asking if I could crash at yours the night before for The Gaslight Anthem (and of course, offering you a ticket by way of a thank-you). I'm doing absolutely rap all that week until the weekend (hence my unfortunate absence from the Aberdeen show). So yeah. Party on?
  9. Little Kicks and Kartta for me. Also looking forward to catching the Marionettes on Sunday. Good to see a mention to Turning 13, I remember watching them supporting Hell is for Heroes at the Lemon Tree many many moons ago, they are missed.
  10. I thought A Weekend in the City was pretty tidy, with moments of genius (Uniform, to be specific). I haven't heard the new record yet, owing heavily to my burning dislike of Mercury. How indicative is that to the rest of the album?
  11. I did wonder this myself. I just clapped extra hard at the end! I'd never seen them before, just went down based on the rumblings about the gig on here. Glad I did as well, one of the better fivers I've spent lately!!
  12. Being, as I am, obsessed with both Kartta and The French Quarter at the moment, I am absolutely gutted I can't make this show. French Quarter bowled me over at Amusement Parks on Fire.
  13. This was brilliant. Particularly enjoyed Spokes, I thought they were astounding. For anyone who was there, I was the loner at the bar with the glasses and Lights.Action! t-shirt. But yes, quality evening, hats off to all involved.
  14. Can't beat moments like that. I like the fact Exodus still occasionally has the ability to surprise me!
  15. I was wondering how the hell I was going to spend tonight. I may have my answer!
  16. Your FR stalking abilities rival mine. Only I don't stalk FR. Hoho. I'm suitably convinced by what I've heard from this lot so far. I may pick up the album before long, and will definitely check out the Moshulu gig in December.
  17. Dag nabbit, that's a pest. Hopefully get another gig with COTC soon. In the meantime, what's the deal with this one now? Any word on replacements?
  18. Is there such a thing as a healthy debate on Welsh emo? Can you think of one that doesn't end with me arguing people into a corner, then losing patience and ordering a pint? Anyway, back on topic, Mike's got the flyers ready for this gig, but I'm not back in Aberdeen until Monday. Would you be home before then to pick them up?
  19. I think I read about this. What's deluxe about it again?
  20. Plainly gutted I have to miss this, his last solo show up here was quality. Justin Martin's set was sparkling that night as well. Everyone that's heading to this, enjoy!
