Not a result anyone was expecting! I was very confused when Ramos scored his second. Madrid were magnificent and it shouldn't be that surprising with the players they have. Didn't know Modric was so good, obviously he was great at Spurs, but he seems genuinely world class now. Up there with Iniesta.

Joffrey is actually older (16) than Jon Snow/Robb Stark (14) in the books.

Got Civ 5 last night and had a bash at it. Was randomly assigned India; does the country make a big difference? It's a heck of a lot to get your head around. I think I'll have to pick up some kind of walkthrough while I get the hang of what I'm supposed to be doing!

Looking at a few strategy games, a genre I've never really tried. What would people recommend over Age of Empires, Civilisation V, Command and Conquer or SimCity (not really strategy game, I suppose)?

I've scarcely had such an overwhelming hunch that we weren't going to win a game after 5 minutes into the second half. I can't really eplain it, as they weren't exactly all over us. I think we had 4 absolutely clear cut chances to finish the game off (Rooney's miss, Pawlett's miss and two free headers from Robson and McGinn) so it's a real shame those chances weren't taken better. Such a strange game. I was sitting with a smile, fairly certain we were going to the final for all of the 1st half, but that changed almost as soon as the whistle blew for half time I think we really needed to put the game to bed in the 1st half, which turned out to be true. Good on St Johnstone though. I'm genuinely pleased for them to be in their first cup final. Hopefully they can kick on and attract more of a following.

I just remembered when my Gran legitimately had a heart attack and I had to head to ARI I -upset - told the manager at The Bobbin and he said "Right. What do you want me to do?" Not "oh God, I'm so sorry. Are you OK? If you need to go, just go" as one would expect. It wasn't a boy who cried wolf situation, I think this was the turning point that lead to all my elaborate excuses for not attending work.

Aye. The hot girls were why I got the job in the first place. That benefit was offset by the volume of Rugby Dicks, however. The captain of the AU rugby team once tried to headbutt me and the "team leader" that day didn't throw him out and actually persistently pretended not to notice me the 3-4 times I told him "that guy just tried to headbutt me." The barflies that stood by the glass collection area frequently tormented me because I didn't enjoy talking to them. There was one guy, Kenny was his name, who once threatened me with violence.

Yeah, I've not been at any teams with good youth coaching or recruitment in this game and have never managed to get it upgraded. It's shit when the very best of your youth players coming through has a maximum potential of 3 stars. You're never going to go with them as they'll probably never even reach that. You do get the odd player who performs really well, regarldess of their rating, usually when they are really specialised to one position, but in general the stars don't lie! I remember persisitng with a 37 year old Chris Iwelumo who my coaches told my was of a 5 silver star rating against the rest of my squad. Stll had brilliant heading, finishing and strength and completely tore it up as a target man.

So anyone coming to this one?
