1. I sent a DSL-401 to Marshall, it cost me nothing for repair, but then the amp was just out of its warrantee and they were obviously feeling quite reasonable. 2. What ever you have done, you have damaged the amp, no Nobel prizes for science there. If you get some half assed dufus like me to fix it on the cheap, you will spend your next gigs remembering how fuck witted the bloke who fixed your amp looked (and sounded) and have very little confidence that your next gig will not be without the alarming smell of burning silicon. 3. The magic words, "no budget in mind" If you don't mind waiting and how much you spend, Pete Cornish will take about 400 quid off you for some exceptional quality pedals, including SS-3 (soft sustain), P-2 (fuzz!?) or G-2 (distortion). These pedals are expensive, over twice the price of the tone bones, and only have 3 knobs to play with, but they are very very good. Pete Cornish if interested.

Your speedo is more than likely optimistic, usually by about 10% or so, but dont count on it. Usually, but not guaranteed, you need to be doing 11 miles an hour over the limit before getting busted, if I presume the speed limit was 70mph, you may well get away with it, if however it is 30, 40, 50 or 60, you will get a call from an officer accompanied by an onsite car crushing lorry, which is a good laugh for friends family and neighbours.

I've got one of those Harley Benton "Sliders" as well, excellent little guitar. Way better than the fender and the gretch models IMHO. Nicer build and parts + made in Germany (as opposed to China) What do you tune yours to? Where do you find spare strings? How you getting on with it? Probably you have done this already, but put it through a mild overdrive and a delay and you get some pretty good "one of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces" tone.

Drop this guy an e-mail, he, amongst other things makes bespoke pick ups. I bought a set of formvars for my strat and it made a massive tonal difference. Both distorted and clean sounds are well improved compared to the stock texas specials and the duncans i used to have in my strat. Bulldog Pickups He well knows his stuff.

very simple answer: lucozade it works quicker than any crappy mars bar, largely due to the fat content in a mars bar slowing the glucose delivery, and is better for you, largely due to the absence of sat fat content.

I bought some of r&b a few weeks back. They cut the leads to any size you want etc etc. doubt if they are neutric, but im pretty fussy about patch leads (not pete cornish 20 quid a patch lead fussy, but not far off it) and the "cut to size" stuff was pretty good

get your self a new scratchplate and fit a paf pro humbucker in the neck position, (most teles will not need extra routing as there is space for a bucker in the wood under the scratch plate anyways- but do chek first) stick a coiltap pot in either vol or tone and you have a monster tele or a more or less standard tele, get yourself a four way selector and you can have the fourth selection as two pickups in series (very common mod)
