    Drum mics

I've done this beforee and it sounded awesome. Just want to get my hand on some gear and go!

    Drum mics

Seems I may be looking for budget as opposed to value-for-money. I wouldn't mind a couple of decent condensors though. C1000 any use for guitar? I've used a Rode NT1 or 2 as overheads and on guitar and both sounded pretty good.
  3. Hiya. Looking into purchasing something for recording some demo acoustic drums. Just wondering what the best value-for-money drum mics are out there? Wouldn't be looking to spend an awful lot at the moment, but just to a decent demo standard. Will also be using the mics for guitars and stuff, so any opinions on versatility would be helpful too. At the moment I'm kind of leaning towards this sort of set up: sm57 - snare/guitar/bass some sort of 3 piece mic set - floor + rack tom and kick some sort of matched pair of condensors - overheads/guitar
  4. Tele customs/deluxe humbuckers are great. Kind of agree with you on these types of humbuckers though. Looked at the Jazzmasters on Youtube. They don't sound great to my ears - nothing on a real JM. The contrast beween the neck and bridge pick up just doesn't sound right, although it does sound pretty good with both selected. Also, I think they've shortened the scale length or something - that in addition the the finishes etc make what I think is one of the coolest looking guitars into a bit of an uggo. Like the idea the simplified tone, volume and 3 way selector, but it seems poorly executed.

    Willing to hear any offers.
  6. He is the boy. Made both my Sound City 50 plus and Boogie 400+ sound absolutely golden. I got a Mesa valve from Dennis that was bad and cause my most recent problem and he replaced it totally free of charge. He lets you watch him work (a testament to his ability) and if you organise it before hand will fix it there and then - handy if you live where we do.
  7. I've looked at the vids on you tube and I think I see what you mean. Less 'bite' than the HBs, from what I can see.
  8. I've currently got a 72 Deluxe with those smart Seth Lover Fender HBs in it. Reckon it'd sound much the same or more single coily?

Righto. Doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest, so it'll probably still be around next week. I'd be willing to consider offers if that helps any?

100 sterling? Firewire cable included. Ideal if you have a laptop/desktop setup and if your looking to upgrade from a single channelusb/fw interface. Can record 4 channels simultaneously i.e. simple drum mic setup.
  11. I wanna try a bluesbreaker so bad. This is the best thing I've heard Tom do. What are the rates like?
  12. Production is amazing. The bit at the start is pretty crushing. The whole thing kinda reminds me of Hope Con, especially the vocals - really like the delivery too.

    Kaddish LP

I've just put up a live recording of Kaddish from a couple of years ago at the balcony bar. These are 7 of the 10 songs featured on the LP and are all great. Some pretty mint heckling thrown in there for good measure. Free to download/stream. Give it a listen. I still have tonnes of LPs left over still and am happy to sell or trade for things I like.
  14. Would like to sell it sharpish 140?

Done. This belongs to Jan as long as he pays me.

Great distortion pedal that'll take you from a thin clean drive to a thunderous doomy riffing monster (I know one of ISIS uses/used one). In no way metallic sounding. Only selling it, because I've got a blackstar HT Dual now and to save a bit of cash for other things. 40 o.n.o
  18. Selling this as I replaced it a while back with an MXR DI, which is more suited for the stuff I'm playing. Really useful tool, pretty much a standard for any gigging bassist. It'll give any amp quite an Ampeg-esque sound and some degree of tube-like warmth. 3 programmable channels too so you can save your favourite presets. Runs on 9v power (like any Boss pedal) or battery. The pedal really shines when recording though, the DI is superb, even better than the MXR's. I would say it's as, if not more versatile as a recording tool than a live pedal. 150, but willing to hear offers.
