  1. I think the same rule also applies to Harmonia albums. That Neu! box set thing is really good.
  2. Am I right in thinking the magnificent Misty's Big Adventure are support for this?
  3. I like videos where not much happens but in a cool way.
  4. Forest Swords: http://vimeo.com/videos/search:forest%20swords/cff466b4
  5. Am I right in thinking that support will come from the magnificent Mountain Man?
  6. I saw Skeletons last night, which was quite enjoyable. A strange and slightly disorienting film but intriguing and even rather heart-warming.
  7. Although to be fair the strings were the only good bit in it.
  8. I think the amount of royalties they have to pay (5%) has been reduced quite a bit though. It was something like 60%, which is a bit ridiculous. BBC News - Men At Work's Colin Hay hits out over plagiarism ruling
  9. Bad news for Germany: http://www.thefinalthird.com/2010/07/04/paul-the-german-octopus-picks-spain/
  10. Yes I remember that - I think he played as part of a duo but can't remember the name they played under. It was a gig with Larkin Grimm and the Kitchen Cynics IIRC. Hopefully he'll come back to Britain soon - I think he'd like to.
  11. I don't normally give plugs to new records but thought I should encourage folks to have a listen to Julian Lynch's second album 'Mare', which has just come out. This is because: a) It's really great and distinctive b) Julian spent a year living in Aberdeen (around 05/06) so there's a bit of a local connection Seems to be getting some good reviews e.g. Pitchfork: Album Reviews: Julian Lynch: Mare You can have a listen here: Mare | Julian Lynch
  12. Brazil were just ridiculous going forward in that World Cup, although a bit poor defensively (and they had Emile Heskey's Brazilian uncle Serginho up front). Sadly that defeat to Italy has meant that they've always been slightly more pragmatic ever since. Tardelli's goal celebration is probably the best ever, although I like Alain Giresse's from the semifinal too. That game was also notable for Uli Stielike looking like he'd just been told his entire family had been wiped out after he missed a penalty in the shoot out. 13. 1982 was the best World Cup ever and, coincidentally, the first one I watched. I can't remember any subsequent games with the same drama as Italy-Brazil and France-West Germany. The final was pretty decent too.
  14. I think Argentina or a properly functioning Spain might run Brazil close. Not sure the Netherlands will give them too many problems unless they play a lot better than they have so far. I suppose it's worth remembering previous World Cups (e.g. 1982) when Brazil looked totally unbeatable until they lost. Although I suppose there are also quite a few World Cups when Brazil looked like they'd win it. And did.
  15. Horse-boy makes me proud of our city.
  16. Germany certainly looking 'ominous', which is a bit worrying but on the upside it's reassuring to see that Australia still aren't that good at football.
  17. ITV has just crashed during an ad break. It's like watching telly in the 1970s.
  18. Can people get this thread back onto foxes, and their ample charms.
  19. Just wondering, are tickets from the cancelled gig valid for this one? I've still got mine, which probably isn't very clever of me.
