  1. I wa just yankin yer chain min, fishing for some vitriolic criticism from vinyl lovers and genuine music fans!! In all seriousness though, having never really owned any vinyl (other than a few 80s speed metal hand me down from my cousin - God bless her for my introduction to Helloween) I don't feel any nostalgia for vinyl. Everything I owned as a kid was on tape until CDs came along. Maybe I missed out! Maybe I'll be harping on about good old CDs when albums are distributed in pill form..... As for the other point regarding "albums", I was reading a piece in Uncut by that slavic sounding bloke from Kasabian who was banging on about how no British bands makes great albums anymore (apart from Kasabian in his eyes of course - their forthcoming album "Empire" is going to be the greatest thing since "Definately Maybe"...make what you want of that statement!). He was taking great umbrage with the fact that so many people do now just download individual tracks onto playlists, the hit single is the be all and end all and that the concept of making a great album is now lost (he was also banging on about his love of vinyl!). Quite what distinguishes a proper album from a series of individual tracks i'm not quite sure. does anyone agree or disagree with this statement? Are there many British bands making great albums these days?
  2. I'd bin them all and buy the albums on CD. I find it's a much better sound and they are easier to store. Alternatively, you can download the best tracks from the albums for 79p each from ITunes Music Store......
  3. Yeah. That will be the incident that turns this once noble sporting organisation into a joke. ;-)
  4. Girl at my work selling 2 camping tickets. 300 for the 2. PM me if interested or e-mail duncan@millstreamassociates.co.uk Cheers Shaki
  5. I don't care how she sounds! I'm just going to ogle her! But in all seriousness she does have a great voice from what I've heard.....
  6. A guy i work with is selling a ticket for this for 50 because his mate can't go. 11th and 12th August. Cheaper than buying it on Ticket Master..... PM me if interested.
  7. Was dubious about that ones existence - Could anyone really be that dumb?! Is there really a place called Mole Station? I clicked on the link to find out, only to receive the message WEBSITE BLOCKED. ADULT CONTENT and a bit about it being reported to my IT dept! While this is a common error with our system (dictionary.com comes up as adult content also) Im now quite worried that I may be called up on this one!!! So, can you please explain why you were trying to access molestation nursery at 10.30 am on Monday?
  8. Can just see the Evening Express: NE Man Fights Panda in Seagull Dispute
  9. mmmmm, i love that cheese and bread breakfast (honestly!). I heard that they were closing these places down to tourists but I doubt if that's true. I'm not going all that way JUST for legal ladies of the night and I'm sure many tourists would be of the same opinion ;-) Disclaimer: Legal or not, I in no way condone prostitution.
  10. When ze seagulls follow ze trrrawler, it's because zey sink sardines will be thrown in to ze sea. Zat is all.
  11. I found a nice jail cell last time I was over. No nonsense self coloured walls and floors with a plain wooden bench in one corner. "No shmoking or banging on the wallsh" was the only condition of staying there. Only a EUR 50 fine for my 2.5 hour stay too! A bargain I'm sure you'll agree!? ....and the offence?! .....pishing in the shtreet! Apparently public urination was one of the top answers given by Amsterdam residents when asked what annoyed them most about tourists so the police were clamping down on it. Doing it behind the police station was a bad idea also! Oh, and if you do happen to get arrested for something trivial other than suspected drug peddling or theft, they are not allowed to search you so you DON'T actually have to consume everything that is in your pockets while your sitting in the cell waiting to be charged/fined!!! As for accommodation, just make sure you book something decent before getting there. Please learn from my mistakes!
  12. "At times your view may be limited or obscured and will at all times be from behind the band. " Scrap that for £340, surely their asses ain't that fine these days?!
  13. Burn, the 5th song on the album is beautiful. I particularly like the line "don't pay no mind, to my watering eyes, must be something in the air that I'm breathing, yes and try to ignore, all this blood on the floor, it's just this heart on my sleeve that's a bleedin". The soul is dripping from his voice there. I too was at the gig in Glasgow in November, absolutely brilliant! Thought all the soul may have been lost at the AECC though, a shit venue at the best of times and I didn't really fancy seeing David Gray. Was anyone there? Unfortunately one of his songs ("Trouble" I think) was used in the recent chick flick "Prime". I don't know what's worse, his song being used in that film or the fact that I have seen that film......
  14. line up has changed for this. The bill is: Crimea, Little Kicks, Call To Mind and Diablo
