  1. Last night's munchies were good-old Stovies!
  2. Hmmm! Just been told about something called a "Chicken Parmo" Parmo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Anyone know if anywhere round here sells it, or do I need to organise a trip to Middlesborough?
  3. This is the other thing at the back of my mind - Remember that the Sun have plenty of form for printing complete & utter shite & the more I read about this the more suspicious I am. I'm not entirely convinced that young lad is the father at all, I bet it's someone else & reckon they have said it's him because he looks so young and they know it will make a great story to sell to the Sun newspaper.
  4. Yup. It may go against the whole "maternal radiance" thing but few ladies look at their best after banging out a sprog.
  5. Hang on? I thought Lloyds itself was doing OK but the Halifax/HBOS side had the loss - Which they must have known about & prepared for when they took over the bankrupt company? How is this even news?
  6. Muzak's going down! BBC NEWS | Business | Muzak firm files for bankruptcy Bong!
  7. Also a Koala in the current fire area: BBC NEWS | World | Asia-Pacific | Koala 'Sam' rescued from fires Thankfully rescued & now recovering. Burned on her nose & back legs.
  8. Do you know or can you ask if this means folk can buy tickets in stores without an extortionate booking free ala Ticketwanker, etc.
  9. Looks like JJB are finally going down the plughole. BBC NEWS | Business | JJB firms set for administration
  10. Yup, she's been enjoying getting married this year - I expect normal service will be resumed soon!
  11. I don't know about it being an equivalent but a pal has this blog: 101 Things Every Cook Should Cook Maybe you could start a Scottish version. I have loads of rib-sticking local recipes from my Gran's day!
  12. Yup - these twats give any kind of activity a bad name & they are by no means confined to the slopes! I may actually have an ancient set of all-in-ones somewhere & when I found them again not long ago, they still fitted - tempting!
  13. Didn't Rollins do an Apple advert a while back?
  14. My theory is that a lot of them are in it for the fashion & wouldn't know snow if it hit them in the face. Not long ago & not for the first time either, I had to give long & detailed directions to a group of "hardened boarders" who clearly had no flaming idea about how to get out of the city, never mind getting to the slopes themselves. :hmm:
  15. Next time, get him to use deep-heat/oil of wintergreen!
  16. He is now - Reputedly paid two million for this campaign alone.
  17. Well, good luck Biz - Whatever you are up to now!
  18. Also remember that Swiftcover won't even insure musicians, entertainers housepersons, unemployed & many other occupations. Including Estate Agents - Ok, they have that going for them at least.
  19. Seems to me that One-Up has never made the mistake of having quite the same overheads & prime sites. Much like Fopp before it overstretched itself with expansion maybe?
  20. Never mind that Swiftcover has a reputation for being one of the shittiest & most awkward insurers there is. Full-on sell-out, with bar. Cunt!
  21. Much longer than that - Right back to the 1970s & maybe even before. There was a day when even Boots ran a small but surprisingly good music department on that site. Every time I climbed the stairs in Zavvi & Virgin before it, I remember back to the day in the early 80s, when I went there on one of my first days out of hospital after a very serious illness, bought two albums & went to leave the shop. On reaching the top of the stairs, I began to stagger from the effort & swayed into a large display at the top, sending the whole thing crashing all over the place amidst crowds of shoppers (think it was just before or after Christmas) diving to get out of the way. I must have still looked pretty ill, the staff were so nice & got me a chair & saw I was OK whilst others were sent to pick-up al the bottles/tubs of whatever! o_O Oh, later-on, when I was better, I also remember a girl called Julie who I used to meet there quite often who I had a bit of a thing for. Ahhh! Yeah, Zavvi might have been a bit shite but passing it tonight, all dark & shut-up was a bit sad - another of my personal musical landmarks in this city gone, probably for the last time?
  22. Good luck to the folk who work there then.
  23. Final closure of the Zavvi stores here has just been announced on the BBC Aberdeen news. The McLeish stores seem set to be bought-up: Deli group plans to buy Aberdeens McLeish Brothers stores - Evening Express
