    Pet Hates!

Cunts at gigs who hassle me when I'm up to my sacs in XLR leads and Gaffa tape.... "Whit ur yiz cawed?" - "Original Sin, like it says on the poster" "Whit dae yiz dae?" - "Classic Rock 60's - 90's, again, evident on the poster to my left" "Whit's that?" - "this is a speaker" "Whit's it fur?" ...and so forth... until the staple question of all drunken worthies at gigs... "D'yiz day oany AC/DC?"
  5. It's worth a punt! Well made, dead simple and does the job. Cheap too ... and when I say "Brand new In Box", I haven't even opened the delivery packaging yet

    Your current read?

The movie was a grim watch! Tilda Swinton was superb though

    Your current read?

Do audiobooks count? If so, I'm listening to Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series on my iPod and am currently on book 3 - The Wastelands. Top stuff. Conventional book-wise, it's "Not Fade Away" by Jim Dodge, which is s great read.
  10. The first of these arrived yesterday and I gave it a good workout at band practice last night, it really cuts through the mix and I can highly recommend this pedal. The second one just arrived at my office the noo, so it's up for grabs. £25 BNIB
  11. I'm old, but pretty awesome and have my kit with me - what time is kick-off?
  12. Electro-Harmonix Screaming Bird Treble Booster Brand new in box - in fact, this is so brand new that it'll still be in the delivery packaging! £25 Selling coz I somehow managed to order TWO of these cunts (don't ask )
  13. I'd like a little head (...that's what SHE said, fnar fnar). Something like a Vox Night Train or a Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister. It would be ideal for practices and as a back-up for gigs.
  14. My partner and I have two red-pointed Siamese (bawless) males, Diesel & Dominic. They're rather cute and good natured. There's word of a female Siamese being introduced into the mix.
  15. Sounds good Sam - my fave Quo song! You'll need to come over to my studio some time and we can blast it out through some REAL amps!
  16. Haywire I had low expectation for this Bourne-esque action movie, but was was pleasantly surprised. Gina Carano is great in the role and Soderberg cleverly doesn't saddle her with too much dialogue. The stunts are great (she's clearly doing almost all of them herself) and even the Kung-Fu (my generic term for extraneous hand-to-hand combat in movies) is credible. A big supporting cast helps, with Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton (looking quite gaunt), Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas....and Channing Tatum, who is quite possibly the worst actor in the business. 7.5/10 (loses half a click for having Tatum in it). A Dangerous Method The inverse of that was this psychological character study of the relationship between Jung, Freud and a young female patient. I was really looking forward to this, but was bitterly disappointed. Kiera Knightley is just awful as the patient. A real missed opportunity. 3/10 First Do No Harm With nowt else to watch, we stuck on this free-with-the-Sunday Post DVD about parents, played by the always dependable Meryl Streep and Fred Ward, who struggle to cope when their 4-year-old son develops epilepsy. When the kid doesn't respond to conventional medicine and the side effects prove to be as bad as the affliction, they turn to an extreme high-fat diet that was developed in the 1920's. I only mention this based-on-fact movie for two reasons... 1) during the end credits, the producers reveal that the actors who play some of the hospital staff and patients were all real people who successfully responded to the diet. ...and... 2) the astonishing performance of the kid who played the patient. He had to fake grande mal seizures and had me convinced. Kiera Knightley should have watched this movie before filming A Dangerous Method. 7/10
