  1. I felt so dangerous having a police escort for me and about 20 others marching around campus. Afterwards, I felt very sad, as I'm sure the officers involved did too. I bet they wished we dug up the cobbles from the High Street and pelted them, just so they could earn their pay
  2. Hahaha, so long as it's not Babycham on your feather boa
  3. Getting bands so long after they're cool is why Aberdeen is a music and fashion backwater, like Wigan, where mini skirts didn't break until 1972
  4. But I'm guessing you're not 6ft 2. I find one, on average, once every month, unless I return to same one over and over
  5. Fuck no, beyond John Lewis. I must consult that online Aberdeen City map now
  6. What do they make of glamour sluts like yourself? Or do you avoid talking of your love of camp 50s b-movie starlets in their presence? Mine: 1, Executing a spontaneous trick (while playing 5-aside football) with such precision that I'm 5 yards beyond the defender before I know what I've done 2, When Neon Lights ends and The Man-Machine begins on The Man Machine by Kraftwerk 3, When Dave plays something in Exodus that is totally unexpected but entirely welcome (the last example was "The End Of The World As We Know It" a couple of weeks ago) 4, When a new outfit is formed from the cobbling together of previously rejected items of the wardrobe 5, Finding a wall that's low enough for me to sit on, but high enough for me to dangle my legs and waggle my feet
  7. Sorry, I'm thinking of the wrong place. That street near John Lewis that has a cobbled road
  8. Hmmm, he looks considerably more dynamic there than he appears on a 5-aside football pitch
  9. I hope I've got that name right. Can anyone tell me anything about them, or is anyone a member of them? I don't know if they're from Aberdeen, but I presume they're from Scotland. All I know is they played the Lemon Tree a few months ago with Masamune and some others, and they were good. After thinking about it, they're even better, but I have heard no more of them
  10. "Kill the Moment"!, which in turn sounds like........Siva, was it? Luckily the rest of I Lost My Hat sounds nothing like either
  11. I hope you're OK. That's quite a nice area, which is worrying. How late at night was it?
  12. Yeah, they had some good tunes and an explosive sound (especially for a 3-piece). Although they are from Glasgow, the singer looked like he could be in a brother of Cedric and Omar from At-The Drive In, which was apt considering they were the band they most sounded like
  13. I gave them a listen. I only like "I Lost My Hat", but I really like it, because it is the only one which has a bit of dynamism about it, while also suiting the cool Velvet Underground style-vibe and apathetic vocal style better than the rest. I thought "You and no-one else" was interesting and complex, but then it just peetered out. The other two are too much like the Pumpkins at their worst: squealing gutar licks and too much attitude. I wouldn't give up, though
  14. Five more definitions of modernity: Dentaku (live) - Kraftwerk Kites - Associates Syntax - colonopenbracket Life's A Gamble - Penetration Twilight Zone - John Cale
  15. If we keep building individual buildings that we think look like the future, our idea of the future will change, and these buildings will still be out place. As an industrial area that is also an entrance to Aberdeen, the Harbour is the best place to start modernisation
  16. No,no,no! I have no idea, he might have given them to someone else. Why are you so desperate? Is it sold out?
  17. Where did you get this? And is it worth buying? "30 Seconds Over Tokyo" is superb, whereas "Non-Alignment Pact" is bollocks. They may not be on the album, but they're the only 2 I've heard
  18. Glad to see you've taken in the latest C90 However, choosing 2 tracks by the same artist defeats the purpose 1, Wild Wild Life - Talking Heads 2, Silent Command - Cabaret Voltaire 3, These Days - Joy Division 4, Definitive Gaze - Magazine 5, A Better Future - David Bowie The sound of the future, yesterday!
