  1. I'm looking forward to Mother and the Addicts, they were fantabalicious supporting Sons & Daughters. Don't know what they're doing on the horrid home of post-rock, mind. Hopefully aiming to destroy the monster from within through the sheer power of fun(k)
  2. Christ, I'm glad I didn't go after reading about all that malarkey
  3. I mean for those already in positions of power. The majority of the public were well-treated
  4. True. We should consider dropping Zander, as he's been very poor so far this season
  5. They were, and your sarcasm was misplaced. Fear and mistrust have always got things done. The stick rather than the carrot worked for Stalin too
  6. First it was Picastro, now LTE. Why do Bikini Atoll play with post-rock-ish bands? They're contrastingly lean and dirty and funky Can some add this date to the calendar, please, so I can request a reminder
  7. Nobody said he was a great commander-in-chief, except himself
  8. Instigating a process of safe democratic reform doesn't make a great leader either. It may make good governance, but not a great leader. Ideas are more important than actions, and Hitler was inspiring and strong-willed Please don't jump on me for being a Nazi, I'm not arguing their cause
  9. I would still be sceptical about attending if I hadn't heard their forthcoming single. It's fab. I just wish it had been released by a band whose members aren't over 30
  10. Don't sound so surprised. Hitler was a good leader, if you recognise politics as being unethical, which it has been since Machiavelli put pen to paper
  11. I'm similarly pessimistic about our chances on Saturday. JC says all Hearts have done is bought some taller players, but they have so many goal threats from midfield I saw on Ceefax that West Ham have released Malky Mackay. We need another experienced centre-back as a reserve, so he'd be perfect. Not that we should have too many Old Firm rejects
  12. I was deadset against seeing them in such a large venue, but I can't turn down a chance to see Editors. Hotdang!
  13. James is a quality goalkeeper, he's one of the best shot stoppers, he's improved his cathcing no end, and he commands his area. He's explained why he peformed badly I felt pretty stupid after asserting to everyone present (my mum and dad) that Scotland would cruise the 2nd half after bringing on Anderson, Sevie and Douglas. Douglas was responsible, not the other two. I was a goalkeeper, and I can assure you that catching a ball while diving is alot easier than it looks
  14. Woah, if I knew how to post a picture, I'd post a picture of Johnny Thunders - the coolest of The New York Dolls - and prove you wrong
  15. Videos on nme.com: Unconditional - The Bravery Bottle Rocket - The Go!Team (for the 3rd time) My Doorbell - The White Stripes Taste the last girl - Sons and Daughters (crikey, Adele can do more for me with one raised eyebrow than any number of the semi-naked black girls that cavort in hip hop videos) Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt - We Are Scientists
  16. I'm not ashamed to say I've never been happier than when Jamie Smith scored the winner. My throat is also wrecked. The pride of the North has been restored. Stand Free
  17. Would it have made it clearer for you kids (and those aged 30 and over) if I'd punctuated each point with: ? It's the best there is in the absence of a smilie with a bulge in one cheek pouch (haha, no, not *insert hate figure here*'s cock in my mouth) Neil, can I be banned for incitement? It's so much cooler than asking to have my account deleted (I don't think I need the smilie here, do I? Ok, just for betamax and french_disko )
  18. I'm glad you ask. You stop being young when you are 30. As you get older you will regress, ie you will gradually rediscover the music of your youth, whereas when you were young you gradually discovered new music. If you are still listening to the music of your youth, it is because you neglected to embrace new music in your late-20s. It is acceptable for you to listen to new music, but not cool, young pop bands. If they are not offending the bourgeoning bourgeois sensibilities of a 32 year-old, then they are not as perfect as I had thought, or you have resisted bourgeois sensibilities (in which case, well done) Your diet of post-rock and Sonic Youth is what I'd expect, but you might find some room for a singer-songwriter or two, or some timeless classics from the late-60s
