  1. You have to ask permission, and sign forms promising not to reprint the images
  2. 2nd year English and Film Studies, and maybe a peppering of Art History, at Aberdeen
  3. What was the harbour bar that featured in the Roughest Pubs In Britain on Sky One? It might have been the Crow's Nest. Apparently the husband of the propietor entered it as a joke, and she was fumings as it's just a nice wee sailor's pub
  4. Is the 524 the one that claims to be a "Cocktail Bar". I fancy walking in there and asking for a Screaming Orgasm. I once saw a guy walk in there with an ironing board under his arm and a bag of towels. That's about as much of a story as I can tell. Other than the fact that I'm a student and I've dared the Seaton Arms. Really, there is nothing too fear. And I feel intimidated in the Public Bar of the Westhill Hotel
  5. What's the difference between James Blunt and Antony? Antony is American, he has not touched the public consciousness and he is far too ugly to ever be truly huge (as in successful, fat fighters!). Thus he is safe for the professional "serious" pop music fans (another oxymoron) on this site to like. I'm not condemning this attitude, just stop pretending Antony is anything more substantial
  6. See the other thread. It's better and longer and my rant can be found there
  7. So, after listening to the build-up on Radio 1 - with Hard-Fi and The Go! Team having me bouncing off the walls of my bedroom - that fucking big queer Antony steals it after an "intense" performance in which he warbled childish poetry in a barely coherent fashion. His album will be flying off the shelves at Tesco tomorrow. He's hardly British either. When he spoke on stage, he had about as little charisma as a member of Sigur Ros, which is apt considering he is a fellow beauty merchant
  8. Shock! They made mistakes on a rough demo! Have you noticed the name of this band? That's right! They never claimed to be musicians. They are stars (I've actually never heard them, and I probably wouldn't like them, but any opportunity should be taken to stick it to this muso wanker)
  9. Hah! It's been said that Yousef's sister is just the man himself with long hair. After seeing her for the first time in Exodus, I said "Well, stick Yousef in a wig and I'll take him home". This picture has done nothing to change my mind
  10. Few of the acts booked are has beens. All of the acts booked are a hundred million times more relevant than those nobodies that you champion. Busted have touched the public conscience; Devin Townshend has touched a handful of "alternative" losers
  11. I celebrated when I saw Crawford had signed, but I was just relieved we got somebody, because we're desperate. My concern is that we have 4 strikers who are too similar: Crawford, Mackie, Lovell and Craig (Jimmy can't just let him rot in the reserves). They are all good finishers, all very quick, all thrive on through balls. None of them are naturally adept at holding the ball up, though I expect Lovell will be asked to do this, and none of them really comes deep, though I expect Crawford will be asked to do this. We could have done better I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but can anyone confirm whether Crawford is in the latest Scotland squad?
  12. One song they did sounded like an obcure Clash song. I don't think it was, tho We Are Scientists were what it is ALL about
  13. I don't know how more alternative you can get than the first couple of hours at Exodus' date=' before you venture into [i']The Wire territory. You'll notice people don't dance during these two hours. This is not to do with danceability, but to do with the alternative nature of alternative music
  14. I wish people would stop trying to justify their hatred of the Old Firm. Our irrational prejudices are what seperate us from animals. We hate them for the same reason we hate England, because they are there to be hated. I think it is driven by a hatred of Glasgow. Glasgow is where the power is in Scotland, just as England is where the power is in Britain. Glasgow is our larger, ubiquitous, condescending neighbour. Aberdeen isn't Glasgow and England isn't Scotland. You should defend your home to the hilt. Rangers only get it worse because they are worse
