Anyone who knows anything about Lucas knows that all he cares about now is getting the fans to part with all their cash, and buy constantly saying that each new version is the last and there will be no more is how he goes about that. I work in a call centre, and believe me, when somebody says "I am going to phone watchdog/ the press etc" you will get the generic answer of "that is your perogative sir/ madam. If you feel that is necessary then please do so." And the very second you are off the call, the person you spoke to will be laughing at you and telling their colleagues about the naive fuckwit that thinks their threats will make a difference. Don't mean to offend, just stating a cold, hard fact- which is that call centre staff get so much shit, and hear the same thing day after day after day, and it just stops having meaning. I know I really don't care about the people that are calling. I am there to get PAID, bottom line.

Personally I do not see where the problems are. I have researched scarification quite a bit in the past- whether it be chemical, cutting, skin removal, branding or even using a tattoo machine with no ink and a longer needle- and as long as you have it done professionally (and not by your drunk mate with a stanley knife out of his dad's tool box) clean it regularly, keep it dressed and all the obvious, sensible things you would do with an open wound then the risk of infection is no greater than getting a tattoo or piercing. The same goes for sub-dermal implants. This is just another case of ignorant people disliking what is different, and thinking that it's "wrong" because of that- just like when piercing began to get popular in this country. If a mentally fit and consenting adult wants to permanently mark their bodies in a way that makes them feel good about themselves who has the right to say otherwise. Jewish boys are circumcised at birth- obviously against their will- and no one complains about that. The whole point of any body modification is people expressing themselves in a way that THEY enjoy and makes them feel good about themselves.

It was actually released as part of the two book "Hand of Thrawn" series . The second was called Vision of the Future. It's been six odd years since I actually read them. All I can really remember about them is that Moff Disra and Major Tierce got a con man named Flim to imitate Thrawn to try and intimidate systems into rejoing the rapidily dwindling remnant. Gonna have to go and read them now.
