  1. Janice Forsyth is a fan of Mr Cutler. His death leaves a unique, Cutler-shaped hole in the universe, and I feel deeply sad about that. Bugger, another one gone.
  2. Thanks, guys, I'll be singing 'Hello Suzie' all night now....
  3. Got to say Dick Gaughan's my choice, but love June Tabor, Jimmy McBeath, The Watersons, (all 200 of them), oh, and Anne Briggs. Saw Matt McGinn in Dunvegan once, and he was brilliant live, but I feel might be an acquired taste on record.
  4. Aye, the decorations are up and the being known in this dimension as June has decorated the tree; I'm really looking forward to this Christmas, and hope the rest of you have a beezer as well.
  5. Watch the TV tributes, see how easy it is? piece of piss, kick, kick, pass, trap, shoot - then try it yourself; genius? let's talk about it later.
  6. I would have to agree, having observed a drakes courtship technique, which at the least can be described as 'persistent'.
  7. I am now speaking Estonian and setting off for work in the fish. Hüvasti!
  8. [quote Scientists studying the history of the H5N1 virus have traced its first recorded episode to an Aberdeenshire farm in 1959.
  9. So, paying two people to pose on a beach in order to paint them is OK, but painting two people posing in a photograph isn't. Hmm.
  10. Sandy Denny, Tomorrow Is a Long Time. A great voice and an underrated little song.
  11. Index finger poised over the 'record' button. Who can't set their VHS? Er, me.
  12. Wherever you come from, check the war memorial (there will be one). Practically every family in every parish in this country at the time had someone killed in WW1. What a waste.
  13. I'd hate to see Iran fucked over by the US, the Iranians I know are decent folks who want a quiet life like the rest of us, and it's a lovely country, would be great as a tourist destination.
  14. Well, that's a bugger, better finish that application for the Saga magazine then... Music is music is what you like. If you think it's pish, it's pish. If I like it, it's not. I think the term normally used here is 'subjective'. We now have over fifty years of 'rock' music to look back on and listen to - and another fifty years of new stuff to look forward to. Far oot, min.
  15. Yes, and she knows exactly what she is to me, because I tell her.
  16. Hmmmm. 'Modern Business Practice'. 'Government Departments'. Only a madman or a child would believe that these two will ever reach any semblance of congruity. Whatever the individuals involved are like, the State is a self-perpetuating entity, and like any other beast, its' only concern is survival. This survival need not involve our survival, or even our wellbeing. Caught between this bloated parasite, and corporations with the same ideology and as much power, not telling them to get stuffed on a regular basis strikes me as blatant derogation of our duty as human beings, as individual, independant, thinking people. Keep the buggers on their toes!
  17. Slapp Happy - Casablanca Moon. Nothing quite like it.
  18. Blah blah blah blah blah........... Haven't heard so much shite since Tuesday. Snakebite, you are a twat with a capital C. Take you naivity and poke it where the sun doesn't shine. If you really believe that the administration of the UK have anything other than their own interests at heart, your mum should administer a severe owergyan with a surform. In the words of my venerable old english teacher, "Wyse up, min."
