  1. Frankly I think anyone who has in interest in the brand of plectrum, cable or strap someone uses is missing the point.
  2. i got 5 reels of electrical tape for 2 quid from homebase in oban (red, black, yellow, grey, blue) but I wouldn't want to bore people with the details.
  3. Oh right, so you do actually care what brand of lead and guitar strap Mouse is using?

  5. I don't give a toss what brand of leads or plectrums anyone is using, letalone the finer details of their guitar strap, and frankly anyone who feels the need to mention such things, especially someone who doesn't record or perform, in their list of gear is obviously a complete twunt.
  6. Wow they must be pretty essential to your "sound".

Anyone else watched this? It seems to have been given universally terrible reviews by the press despite coming from Nicholas Roeg. I can understand why though, some of the acting is really, truly terrible and hammy, especially lead Kelly Reilly and the pathetic cringeworthy cameo by Donald Sutherland. It reminded me in that respect of Bad Timing, which I literally couldn't finish watching due to the painfully shit acting "talent" of Art Garfunkel. Ontop of that, there are some pretty clumsily executed scenes and on the whole it made it difficult to engage with the film too seriously. However - it is a genuinely creepy story in the vein of The Wickerman (i.e outsiders gradually discover local rural types are total mentalists) and I thought Miranda Richardson and Leona Igoe were great in it aswell. It is not another Performance or The Man Who Fell to Earth though, and feels more like a made for tv drama than a serious film.....
  8. Personally I suspect it's largely because heath ledger is in it.
  9. The reference is there to put my point of view into context and demonstrates that I'm not just being contrary for the sake of it, you blithering semi-literate idiot.

  11. since when is the guitar solo the sole preserve of cheesey 80's metal twats?
  12. cool, i'm sure i saw a DS being used as a remote controller for ableton once
  13. I suppose you've never read george bernard shaws "three plays for puritans", the preface of which is a scathing indictment of shit theatre, that despite being written over 100 years ago can be applied perfectly well to the crud hollywood pumps out today in the cinemas. but yeah anyway, obviously im a suicidial, intentionally contrarian cock because unlike people such as yourself I've got the audacity to give a fuck about culture, art and society and the temerity to develop an informed opinion that I can call my own which I'm not afraid to express. I don't blame you though, it's much easier to just clap along with everyone else, especially when people will tell you kill yourself and call you a cock if you don't.
  14. yeah because business on the internet is confined to the borders of nation states....
  15. RIAA suing citizen for copying legally purchased CDs to PC - Engadget
  16. yeah, and ripping cd's is illegal, therefore your argument is the "stupidist".
  17. The point is, the capacity of those devices and the exhorbitant expense of filling it with *licensed content*, along with ripping software being distributed by apple, is a tacit admission by the industry that people *will* be using them largely for illegally obtained content. Either that or they fully expect people to spend thousands of pounds buying content from them, both positions do the industry no favours.
  18. bigsby, it is illegal and the fact nobody has been prosecuted for it is irrelevant. It will literally cost you over 15,000 to fill up an 80 gig ipod with content from iTunes. That's a simple fact.
  19. Tomorrow, thousands of mindless consumers will eat in burgerking/mcdonalds/subway/kfc etc because "its easy" "its convenient" and "they like it". They will shovel an unhealthy, tasteless and unethically produced amalgam of sugars, fats, carbohydrates and protein into their mouths, past their desensitised tastebuds which perhaps have never been exposed to anything other than this kind of filth, and they will *enjoy it*. Many of these thoughtless, uncultured robots will then proceed to pay for cinema tickets and go and watch the new batman film, their experience augmented with even more mass produced unhealthy junk food. They will come out declaring it to be the best film they've ever seen, and bask in an existentially reassuring sense of one-ness with millions of other mindless philistines as they discuss the deeper parts of the film such as "did u see when he killed da bad dude, that was bare funny" and "yea did u check her tits in that catsuit man!". The same thing will happen again and again and again for months on end as each of these tasteless, pointless chunks of entertainment protein get hyped, released, and exploited. Fair enough if you derive pleasure from eating (metaphorically speaking) shit, it's the way you act as if it's normal, as if there is an excuse for propping up these industries that degrade humanity to such an awful extent, that I find so offensive.
  20. There are people who consider watching two animals beat each other unconscious to be entertainment; the fact you are being entertained does not invalidate any kind of examination of the social, cultural or moral implications of what it is that is giving you a hardon for <however much a cinema ticket costs these days>.
  21. nah i need to stay in and watch eastenders
  22. Ok, you've convinced me, perhaps this film will break from all tradition and not be a meaningless, moneyspinning, propagandistic, merchandise licensers wet dream full of vapid celebrity "actors" and tired, cliched plot devices. lol.
  23. Of course I haven't been to see it, it's not necessary to see these kind of films to know that they are artless lowbrow shite for the unthinking masses.
  24. Yeah not illegally downloaded material, just illegally copied material.
