  1. Sorry to bruise your ego and shatter your myopic worldview but I watched the film out of genuine morbid curiosity as to the state of our society, given the inescapable BATMAN IS FUCKING COOL marketing message that is being constantly pumped out in huge slimy globs through almost every form of media at the moment into the gaping mouths of the willing morons who swallow it down without even a second thought.
  2. Yep, they are just made for cheap thrills, which is why I find the suggestion that "its the best film EVAR" totally offensive. Watching films like these is like listening to scooter, i.e you'd have to be high on class-a drugs or literally retarded to derive any pleasure from it.
  3. Believe it or not I was willing to give "overwhelming popular opinion" the benefit of the doubt, I mean if so many people insist this is the best film ever made there must be something to it right? Sadly I felt vindicated after seeing it...
  4. if you don't know, you don't need to know.
  5. giving droves of drunken twats an extra excuse to stop walking home and start congregating on the pavement is a terrible idea.

  7. Yes well conversly the beauty of it is that it gives those of us who know better a chance to inform people that ostentatious displays of their expensive tat mean fuck all.
  8. Well I'm sorry you see it that way, but does anyone really give a fuck what brand of strap someone is using, or want to see an hilarious graphical diagram of their "stack"? What purpose does that serve? As far as I can see this is just a dick swinging contest to determine who has the most twattish guitars and expensive amps, if you think that's what constitutes a decent thread then I feel deeply sorry for you.
  9. calibre fucking rules, i would love to see teebee and calyx up here though they would tear the place apart
  10. yeah come on guys, post more MS paint diagrams of your amps and pedals thats what this is really about.
  11. Where's your music Mouse, and how many of those guitars belong to your dad? show us a photo of those 100mm plectrums too please.
  12. I have a feeling nobody would notice any difference between a dj set and a so called "live" set by pendulum anyway, they have the unique distinction of being the biggest dnb producers which nobody in the dnb scene actually rates. All their "fans" are people who aren't into dnb.
  13. As far as I know they are usually referred to as "those fucking annoying cunts that the police should move on"
  14. What else would he playing, if not a "character"? Himself?
  15. hahah, I've just watched the film and frankly I was not surprised atall. It is a violent (I would not take a 12 year old kid to watch this and anyone who does ought to be ashamed of themselves as parents) cheesy as fuck steaming heap of hollywood poo. Anyone claiming this is "the best film evar!" clearly needs to take their head out of the fucking sand and watch some proper cinema. Laden with cheap dramatic devices and sound effects, this film contains some of the hammiest self-conscious acting I've seen in ages (because I don't normally watch this type of shit but I thought I may aswell since everyone is so affronted by my disdain for these kind of films). Honestly, I think it is incredibly sad that so many people are taken in by this crap and willingly pay to watch it. Shame on the lot of you.

  17. No, as I've already said, it helps to contextualise and legitimise my point of view, which is why I brought it up in the first place, and if knowing what I'm talking about makes me a tosser in the eyes of people like you, so be it. Anyway, I haven't called it culturally redundant at any point, infact that's a rather odd phrase and I'm not sure what you mean by it, perhaps you could explain? Personally, I got sick of batman and DC comics before i was 10 years old, I found comics like 2000AD and manga/anime much more grown up, deeper and satisfying at that age when i was a child. I don't care if batman is a "cultural icon", the fact it's been exploited for over 50 years for commercial gain and people are still pathetic enough to buy into this tired "franchise" is exactly my point.

what does natch mean? But yeah I largley agree with you, it was an ok way to pass the time but it should have been shown on bbc2 or something, not put on general release.
  19. I'm about to change ISP, so I'll have to switch to a new VoIP service, anyone got any suggestions of somewhere that is cheap + operates a standard SIP gateway that can be accessed over any IP network? Currently using BT, which was fine but you can't use it from anything other than your ADSL line, I've gotten used to using my mobile as a voip handset at home and really want to be able to use VoIP from any wireless AP.
  20. No, I haven't tried using "better quality cabling" because I'm completely satisfied with the cheap balanced cables and there is no perceptible level of hiss present at the fixed mixer gain I use to monitor, and absolutely no electromagnetic interference. They are 3m cables which hang down in a tangle amongst my dvi/powersupply/usb/etc cables within 3 feet of my main production machine which has a psu and various fans. IIRC I paid 8 quid each for all 6 cables. Anyway to get back to the original point, who the hell cares what brand of cable, strap or plectrum anyone is using? These are things which nobody in their right might would consider to be important "gear".
  21. My "digital" project studio, like any other, involves a lot of "analogue" cabling. I have balanced TRS cables running between my audio interface, my mixer, and my monitors, and in a "digital" studio environment where there may be lots of electromagnetic interference generated by devices such as computers, displays, powersupplies etc balanced cables are are essential. I used some fairly cheap generic (as I said I forget the brand) cabling and I have zero problems with noise, to the extent that I don't need to mention the cables or their brand name in my list of gear because I take for granted that people don't give a shit about such trivial things - unless of course you're a long haired student with a guitar, amp and 100mm plectrums.
  22. Is there a big difference between a digital and analogue setup when it comes to TRS cabling then?
  23. Yeah I fully admit I'm not completely familiar with the importance of the brand name of cable, strap or plectrum you use and how it affects your sound, perhaps you could enlighten me?
