  1. Snuff Box - Boyfriend Scenes
  2. Snare drum sold. Kit still available.
  3. It's purple...with (I think) black hardware. I'll post a pic tonight. It's a few years old, but in "as new" condition, and still in it's box....I got given it from the DW rep as an apology for taking an insanely long time to send me the kit I ordered, but I've never had a need for it and have never played it.
  4. You can tell what he's injured just by the way he fell over? Talented loon!
  5. This could be a tough 2 or 3 weeks for the Dons with big players missing. Fallon banned......Jack banned.......Milsom injured. I really like the look of our first choice 11, but it's not a big squad, and as soon as we pick up injuries, we need to start playing the likes of Mackie (who remains the luckiest man alive to be playing at this level)....and Clark, who I thought was total gash on Saturday. In fairness, Clark hasn't played a lot, so maybe just short of match practice....but he needs to get with the programme sharpish. Agree on Considine though....superb game. He just seems to understand his own game better this season. Doing the basics well, and has mostly eradicated the clown-footed antics of previous years. Also slightly gay for Ricky Foster just now....I had major doubts about whether he was captaincy material. Happy to have been proved wrong. Leading by example. Top man.
  6. FOR SALE: DW Collectors Maple drum kit - Gloss purple lacquer finish, with chrome hardware - 22 x 18" Bass (undrilled) - 10 x 8", 12 x 9", 14 x 12", 16 x 14" toms - 2 x DW 9000 tom/cymbal stands - 1 x DW 9000 double floor-tom stand - 1 x DW 5000 2-leg hi-hat stand - Snare drum stand not available Also for sale: - 10" Pacific soprano snare drum (£30) Kit has barely been played in the last 4-5 years due to an upgrade. While externally, the kit is in excellent condition, there are issues worth highlighting.....namely that one or two of the shells have become very slightly warped. This makes the kit a little tricky to tune.....particularly the 12" tom. With a little damping however, the kit sounds and plays very well. The kit has been recorded/gigged in its current condition, with excellent results. I paid a small fortune for this in 2003, but due to a) the condition of the shells, and b) the fact I need to reclaim some storage space....I am looking for £600 (excluding the snare). When purchased, the hardware alone retailed for around £600, so just think of it as getting a drum kit for free.....!
  7. I'll accept any non-defeat. This feels like the first time in a while where I've felt optimism before a Rangers game with just cause. Our midfield is well capable of bossing the game if they keep their recent level up, and Vernon/Fallon are starting to gel nicely. Huns haven't lost a goal away from home this season. That is one record that is getting smashed tomorrow!
  8. This has happened to me a fair bit recently. It's well uncomfortable. I keep stopping talking so I can let myself finish.
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15455362.stm Jesus suffering fuck.
  10. I find it particularly galling to see such a bastion of decency, equality and non-prejudicial journalism as the Daily Mail let their standards down like this.
  11. Jack was a fanny for getting booked after his goal. If you get booked for celebrating, you're an idiot. Every footballer knows the rules, but somehow all of them think that it's OK to swallow a booking for this. I'm amazed that manager's don't go fucking mental at this. Might sound harsh, but he really let the team down. Just totally needless, and he knew it would happen.

I met with my fitness instructor the other day. I asked him "Can you teach me to do the splits?". He said, "Are you flexible?" "I can't do Tuesdays".
  13. World Exclusive: John Terry's a complete cunt. Fuck me, never saw that coming.
  14. Do you mean AVB, or is there some reason for Marco Van Basten to get involved?
  15. Perhaps.....but what a disgusting denial of his own responsibility for everything bad that happened on his watch. Everything is the fault of the players, the staff, the chairman.....everybody. Except of course for the guy who signed the players, ran the training, picked the team etc. This constant harping on about how "I didn't become a bad manager overnight" is just utter pish. Frankly his record was never that impressive, and to use his own words, MM was obviously a "drainer" from the start, as evidenced by the utter lack of respect he managed to command in the dressing room. Sure we've had some bad years, but JC did a great job, and Craig Brown is slowly getting there, proving that the right man can put together a team irrespective of any other shite going on at the club. MM can fuck off.
  16. Perhaps nobody at the club spoke to you/liked you because you're a cunt. You're certainly continuing to do a fine job of sounding like one. Fucking terrible interview.
  17. Snare wires certainly shouldn't be on super-tight. In any case, snare wires have got little if anything to do with the tuning of the drum. Provided the buzz you get from the snares sounds OK, and you haven't strained the snare mech to breaking point, you should be OK. When you say you've tried and burst 1-ply heads, I assume you mean on the tops? If you're in the habit of bursting the resonant head (the bottom one), I'd worry. Definitely not normal, no matter how hard you hit. I'm no slouch, and I've never burst a bottom head, or even damaged one, in my life. Without knowing better, I'd put that down to either poor quality heads, poorly fitted heads, or a maltreated drum. In terms of your current setup, some of the Aquarian heads are very heavy, so if combined with a 2-ply bottom head, you might just end up choking the life out of the drum. Additionally, deeper drums resonate more.....so if you're using a standard depth drum 5" or less I'd avoid using 2-ply resonant heads as a general rule. Generally, 2-ply coated on top, 1-ply clear on the bottom works for most situations.
  18. Generally, you just want to aim for an even tension around the drum. Tap 1" from the hoop at each tuning lug, and try and get them to all sound the same. Easiest way to do this is to work with opposing lugs. ie. 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock......then 3 and 9, then 2 and 8, then 4 and 10......rather than going from 12 o'clock, to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc. Also, on the resonant head, I've found it a good idea to slacken off the lugs a little where the snare strainer contacts the hoop of the drum. Makes the snare wires bed into the head a little better. To be honest, there's so little sustain on a snare drum, it's generally much easier to get a satisfactory tone from a snare than when tuning toms....toms can be an utter ball-ache. I generally use a 2-ply coated head (e.g. Remo Ambassador) on the batter head, and a 1-ply clear head on the resonant side (eg. Remo Diplomat). Depends what sound you're after. If you want a fatter sound....use thicker heads, e.g. 2-ply resonant head.
  19. Great Gary Neville quote during commentary on Gareth Bale: "When you see him open his legs like that...it's a great sight"
  20. ....8,300 tonight. Given recent attendances, that's about par. Certainly worth repeating the experiment. Performance like that could/should add at least another 1,000 to the home gate.
  21. Well that was just fucking sweet. 90 mins of consistent good football. Utterly dominant. Despite recent results, never looked anything other than confident, even arrogant at times. If they can keep their level there, they'll give anyone in the league a game. Proud.
  22. Half-time report from Pittodrie: We've been fucking fantastic. Best 45 mins of football we've played in a very long time. Passing it for fun, making loads of chances and most importantly, taking them. Their keeper is the only thing stopping it being at least 5. Friday football fucking rules!!
