  1. I won't be called by an idiot by anyone. Make that your last and that's the end of it. Frosty - Apologies again. Hopefully that's the last of it.
  2. It's called respect. Look it up in the dictionary. Worst kind of pedant - I've got a long way to go before I even come into the same ball park as you, junior. If it hadn't been for all your pedantic behaviour beforehand your spelling error would have mattered not a jot. Just putting the boot on the other foot for a change. In any case the saddest thing is you're the one who hates Aberdeen, the music that comes out of Aberdeen and the people of Aberdeen, so why do you spend half your life on this website? So what if I'm 27 and like wrestling? I don't know a thing about you as you're so shrouded in mystery. Or are you? In any case, that's the end of the rises out of me, unfortunately. Apologies to the Mods for going off topic. Won't happen again.
  3. I don't think that's what's being talked about. Everyone knows that "serious" electronic music needs to come from vinyl. And one of my mates got one of those mixing consloles for his Ipod, and he's certainly not an "idiot" who uses it as a "toy." To be honest I think you're a fucking idiot for listening to "trance music", but I wouldn't generalise that abody who does is. If you're going to post on the forum at least use correct spelling - It's like when you're producing a demo - If you're not doing it properly you're selling yourself short and not giving a fair representation of who you are. Settling for second best. Tsk tsk.
  4. It was Mr. Mcmahon that he tried to kill off - he's the vicious and evil alter ego of Vince. And at least he had the gumption to stop the angle when everything came out. Mind you, it would have been better (and i'm sure they all realise this now after the fools Benoit made of them) to cut the angle the week before and give a tribute to Sensational Sherri. She was a true legend and deserved more than the short graphic she got. I thought it was sick that an actual hall of famer got ignored so the Mr. McMahon story could continue. It shows Benoit, who, whichever way you look at it, wasn't in the Hall of Fame was held in a higher regard than an actual inductee. Interesting news in relation to the Wikipedia entry - Chris Benoit mystery editor confesses: claims "terrible coincidence" - Wikinews Nothing sinister, just a nerd at work.
  5. On the level I watch it it's no different from Coronation Street, Eastenders etc. Made up stories performed by actors. Wrestling has the added bonus of the bumps and some amazing stunts. The characters grow and you and it's bit of good old fashioned good vs evil. My first experience was about 20 years ago at the Beach Ballroom and I've been loving it ever since. It's not real, it's not serious, it's escapism. I'm still in shock about Benoit. It really looks like the WWE are going to attempt to erase him from the history books. Not gonna be easy. I think a lot of them feel like muppets for gushing their hearts out on the tribute show. All apart from Regal who seemed to know something was up on the tribute and said just a few carefully selected words. Bret Hart was backtracked a fair distance as well. ECW was brilliant last night - the best in ages I thought. From reading reports Smackdown should be great tonight as well. No stories - just pure, intense wrestling. As JBL would say "Smash mouth wrestling."
  6. Diamond's gonna be lucky to get a game next season let alone get the captaincy. Can't see Brewster holding down a place, either. He'll have to improve on his one cup goal and zero league goals. Oh, and stop looking EXACTLY like a 41 year old mannie huffing and puffing around the pitch I thought Seve would walk into the job too but the Cooncil mole was saying today Jimmy is, at the moment, wanting to give the captaincy to McNamara. I can understand it on a pure experience level, but it's nae exactly good for the team if someone who's hardly played with them is given the armband right away. Having said that, he's a natural leader and will certainly be more vocal than Anderson, captain or not. Anderson's only weaknesses for me are - he's a bit short for the giants of the Premiership and he's nae vocal enough. I reckon Jackie will cut out the silly mistakes that Considine and Diamond were doing on a fairly regular basis last season through his leadership and vocalness. (Assuming either of them get any pitch time.) I wouldn't put it past going to Nicholson though. I reckon if Clark was a bit more vocal Jimmy would have handed him the armband by now. The chosen one, and all that.....
  7. Okay, it wasn't exactly that, but that's what was reported yesterday. Here's the actual texts that were sent before he killed himself: Text Message 1 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53 a.m.) - Chris Benoits cell phone My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayetteville Georgia. 30215 Text Message 2 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53 a.m.) - Chris Benoits cell phone The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open Text Message 3 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:54 a.m.) - Nancy Benoits cell phone My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. 8. Easy now. Don't tarnish me with a brush - I'm certainly not that gullible. It's only because I've seen what he (now) seemed to be like outside of the ring from family footage etc. (on the tribute and on the Chris Benoit DVD) that it appeared his outpouring of emotions was, in fact, genuine and not a work. Also from the perspective that he had just turned a corner with his wife weeks before this happened (Westlemania 20) in terms of their relationship. This would obviously sway your opinion that his emotions and reactions, to keep it dead in line with what you were saying, were, in fact spontaneous and not anything to do with the "bunch of cameras and thousands of hollaring (sic) overweight people. I certainly wouldn't have been fooled by anything a wrestler does in or outside the ring when a WWE camera is rolling beside them. It's you that just mentioned analysing. I've just been trying to make sense of it all. It is, after all only "fucking" wrestling.
  9. I know he's older. But if we use Davie Weir as an example Russ could still have a fair few years left at the top. He's never really been troubled by injury which bodes well for the future. Brown only had 2 years left on his contract. In any case I think it's beyond a joke that Brown went for 4.2 million and Anderson is worth 1 million. It's a similar situation with Stevie Naismith. These joke bids from Rangers are nothing short of insulting.
  10. Steady. I was writing that while the tribute was on and it was showing the famous Wrestlemania 20 moment where his wife and young Daniel come into the ring and Benoit lifts him up and gives him a kiss - he looked so loving. They looked like a very happy family. It's now come out that his wife served a restraining order shortly before this after he went mental in their home and she feared for the safety of their son. The order was later dropped. They made a big deal of how polite and well turned out Daniel always was in the tribute. A credit to his father. It's just so wrong. Sounds like the WWE have washed their hands of him and regret the tribute after last night's ECW. He texted Chavo saying the windows were open and the dogs had been fed before he hanged himself. that was his suicide note I suppose. Terrible.
  11. Legend? Fucking Judas. Scott Brown - A few good seasons for Hibs. Shows promise for the future. 4.2 million Russell Anderson. Rock steady for 8 years straight. Peak of his career. 1 million Justice?
  12. That's what I thought, dude. SO wrong. Just so wrong.
  13. I reckon it's a tie. But Bret is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. The exellence of execuction. Benoit was a kid murderer. Kind of tarnishes everything he ever did, for me.
  14. I just can't believe it as the story unfolds. How could you smother your own son and strangle your own wife? I just can't understand it. it reallly is the sickest, bost barbaric thing i've ever heard of. And it's all from the guy who took his son everywhere, immaculatley dressed and kissed him in the ring when he won the Heavyweight title. Benoit seemed to have a life outside the wrestling, he seemed normal. Jokes wouldn't go down too well with me. Anyone who does is a sick fuck, I'll tell you that now. Not because the guy is (probably was now) a bit of a favourite of mine but at the end of the day a 7 year old kid was been suffocated in his own home by his father after perhaps watching his mum being throttled by his Dad. It's just beyond..........anything, really. After the whole truth comes out maybe the tribute wasn't the best idea. The guy was a fucking psycho (assuming it's all true, and it looks 99.9% to be the case.) Maybe JB:'s "future hall of famer" predictions were wrong. Maybe it was wrong to have Edge greeting his heart out on telly about a guy who murdred his wife and kid. Maybe the worlds one fucked up place..........
  15. I knew something was up when he never made the PPV on Sunday night. The fact of the matter is instead of wrestling at Vengance, he was killing his own son and had already murdered his wife. It's just so wrong - incomprehensible. The tribute last night was good - very good in fact, but does he deserve any kind of tribute after this, one of the worst acts I've ever heard of? I mean, as a wrestler he is nothing other than a legend - as JBL said week after week - Top ten of all time, future hall of famer etc etc. but this knid of overshadows everything he ever did. I'm beyond shocked at this. The Rabid Wolverine, I mean for fucks sake. He seemed so quiet. I can't believe this has happened. It's bizarre enough typing about a guy who murdered his wife & kid, but when that guys a bit of a hero of yours....Fucking hell.
  16. I mean, you couldn't make this sort of thing up. Not having a go? Not even a hint of having a go there, is there? Nope. Definitely not having a go at anyone. Time and time again you moan about Aberdeen and the groups / artists from Aberdeen, yet you spend all your spare time on this forum (when you're not creating symphonies down in the underground super - studio.) Is it just me or is this sort of trash underming all the groups who actually get off their arse and produce music totally out of the spirit of the forum? I mean, why should Onion Terror or Spike Piledriver spend hundreds of pounds and hours and hours (over)producing their music when a live take in the studio and some fiddling with levels gives a fair and honest representation of what they are all about? Exactly - Leave the underground bunker and get your arse to a gig and take in some proper live music - I'm pretty sure most of the bands on the forum would agree they're best appreciated live and not on their demo tapes / recordings.
  17. Stephen Morris can do the above and he's probably at a loose end now New Order have finally had the sense to call it a day. Give him a call.
  18. Didn't he like sack the entire band or something?
  19. Dated and tedious, more of the same from the scratched record that is Stripey. Maybe you could produce a bitchin' remix of the track down in your ber studio and bring it into the year 2007? To kind of quote Ian MacKaye - At least he's doing something - what the fuck are you doing? How naff and cheesey of me, eh? Good song chaps.
  20. Lovell is wanted by Bournemouth apparantely, but Calderwood has said they would need to break the bank to get him. Bit dissapointed, as I would have hoped Jimmy would have just told them where to go and say he's one of our most important players and he's not for sale. He's got two years left on his contract anyway. de Visscher looks really good. I think he's gonna get a starting place. He's very small but quick and skillful. Very tough start to the season, though. We can't afford another opening day draw to United. Is anyone else a bit sick of United away for the first game of the season? It pains me to see so many enthusiastic folk flocking down and filling up Tannadice. It's only United that benefit. A home game would have been much better to try and get a bumper crowd and hopefully a win. Hopefully if we get a result we will get a big crowd against Hearts.
  21. Because it wouldn't be a good idea to marginalise non - season ticket holders in any way. We need to bring in more floating voters as it is. Loads of folk drink (aye, as much as you can get down your throat kind of drinking) before the game at the 50 / 50 club etc. anyway and it's not as if it's kicking off at every game in the Main Stand, is it? Seeling booze at the grounds works in England, so it could work here. We could learn a thing or two from down the road. But we're Scottish, we don't need to learn......
  22. I'm just back from two weeks in the sun. How i've missed all this..... That's an aresy comment. Why should I "know better"? Do you know better? From looking at your list of bands on your Myspace you like I would hardly say they are all "cutting edge" and would consider many of them uninteresting. Certainly wouldn't have a go at you for liking them though, as what's uninteresting to you and me are completely different. Oh, and of course you've actually checked this with the band themselves. They think the music they make is original and creative themselves? And it is "interesting" to folk like me who enjoy their music. I don't think it's even in the slightest bit original, but it still rocks and they have some great songs. What, the fuck, is wrong with that? They are a pastiche of 70's rock and I'm sure they are fully aware of this and know they are not breaking any new ground whatsoever. They are, however, hugely enjoyable live and the album is a great blast of rock. This reminds me of the "everything invloving guitars, drums, bass and voice is a copy of the blues / skiffle bands / Beatles / Dylan / whatever" debate. Just beacuse it's unoriginal doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable. Old rockers like Easy Dave have seen all the original rock bands and loves seeing the new ones because they "remind him" of such and such. He doesn't sit there and moan about how they're unoriginal and "entry level." If you think a group or artist is shite, just say they are shite outright. Don't try and degrade the intellectual merits of those who enjoy them. We're not all morons who think Wolfmother are bringing a new sound to the table and it's generally accepted that they are generally are a rip - off of other bands. They are just a power trio from Australia who make some rockin' tunes and are great live. Simple as that. So please, don't imagine for one second everyone thinks they are original!
