  1. Cheers! I was under-age like!
  2. My first visit was c.1973
  3. I've been told that Bob Spence (who helped on Peter Innes' 'Fit like New York?' book) is aiming, with some other folk, to put together an album by Aberdeen bands from the 60s. A fair amount of vinyl has been collected, but he is looking for original studio tapes, or unreleased stuff etc before the musicians involved are too senile/dead to be contacted If your grandad/granny was in a local band and can help out with this, or have photos/memorabilia, then contact Bob via Jim at Drummonds.
  4. I caught a wee snippet of that,Del...it was a tiny coffin though.. he must've had a helluva short back (and sides)!
  5. Might head down too.. if the old body can cope!
  6. Nice blast from the past Dillon! I definitely recall at least one S Beaver bassist... probs you!
  7. A friend told me Earl died of Nashville causes.
  8. I'm up for the slow mo pedal!
  9. I like a paper...online is for computer games kiddies, IMO, but I feel disenfranchised...hate all the Sun type crap, and suspicious of most of the broadsheets. The local press seems to be in the pocket of businessmen, so there's not much left....maybe The Beano?
  10. Thanks for putting the night on.. really enjoyed Craig, and Thomas was, as always, entrancing!
  11. Hopefully yes, Chris... nothing on the horizon yet though! Matricarians are at Tunnels on Tuesday, supporting Thomas Truax
  12. not the best time for me, due to fitba' infatuation, but I hope this does well, as the Malt Mill has a lot of potential. Have played there a few times in the past, and recall it being hoaching at weekends.
  13. That's probably why I didn't see you when I was peering down at the crowd (note the 'r' in peering)!
  14. I was at Bonnie Prince Billy too (up in the balcony with the poshoes). The next night was Bridget St John/Lol Coxhill/Bill Wells'National Jazz Trio of Scotland. Both gigs were good eens. The only disappointment for me was Lol not appearing due to illness (although I have seen him before, at the Art Gallery, c.1976)
  15. Sorry 'bout posting this here, but my 3 attempts to get this on the Gigs/Events one all failed. To celebrate our new shared ep 'The Denburn', Kitchen Cynics and C S Buchan are doing sets at Kilau on Thurs 9th Feb.... 7 pm kick off
  16. A nice Portuguese review of my now sold out vinyl album from Italy ( thanks for the geads up, Free Tibet!) The translation is enjoyably weird http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fatalhodesons.blogspot.com%2F2012%2F01%2Fkitchen-cynics-wooden-bird.html&langpair=pt%7Cen&hl=en
  17. Next K Cynics gig is at Kilau with C S Buchan, on 9th Feb at 7pm.
  18. Various artists 'We are all one, under the sun' (Robbie Basho tribute) 8/10
  19. Hi LG ...I'm Old Gold's mum. I just check here to make sure he's behaving himself after that last business resulted in the restraining order.
  20. Damn....wish I'd known about the gig! He'll be much missed... great musician!
  21. I spent a lot of time over Christmas/ New Year playing old analog games like dominoes and bagatelle, but if my son buys pne of those Retrode things ( which let you play mega drive and nintendo games on the computer using the original controllers) then I can see me having a Micro Machines and Road Rash frenzy soon.
