  1. You about town tomorrow?
  2. Coming soon...vinyl album with covers of Kitchen Cynics songs by folks I admire, including Alasdair Roberts, Josephine Foster, Tom Rapp, Adrian Crowley, Major Matt Mason & Bridget St John.
  3. New limited edition album out on the Eleven Willows label.... features newly-recorded versions of some of my Tune-a-Day songs... http://m.soundcloud.com/eleven-willows/kitchen-cynics-leaves-and
  4. I'd like Pete gone too, despite not being on the list.
  5. I'm worried that the hard winter surfaces might take their toll though The soon-to-be dead cartilage will crumble into dust!
  6. Time to nobble Delboy! *regrets turn of phrase*
  7. Very kind offer! Thanks Luckily I tried that games/phone exchange place opposite the pound shop today, and managed to pick up 2....haven't tried them yet though.
  8. That would be fine, but the recorder maxes out at 2gb. Will check Jessops out, though. I struggle to buy online as I don't have a credit card.
  9. My old 8track recorder died, and I'm now using a back up Fostex MR8....but my memory card isn't big enough (only 128mb).....has anyone got any 1 or 2 gb compact flashcards they could sell cheapish?
  10. Batch of vinyl.. Chelsea Light Moving Josephine Foster 'Little life' Alasdair Roberts 'A wonder working stone' Shellac 'Terraform' Jack Rose etc 'Ragged and right' Thuston Moore/John Moloney 'Caught on tape' The Fugs first album Kaleidoscope 'Forget about tomorrow' plus Craig John Davidson 'The last laugh' cd
  11. She was my joker, too.... points aplenty coming from a few on my list, but Maggie is one to savour!
  12. Matricarians are hoping to coax some brave souls to join us on theremin, etc We'll mostly be using singing bowls, zithers & racket-making stuff.
  13. There was the old 'Venue', which would be downstairs if you enter from Market St. However, I'm getting p'd off already by this build up, so will only be impressed if it's the old 'English Club' dancehall on Belmont St, and it has no microbrewery connection!
  14. Something to do with the City of Culture bid in the old One Up premises?
  15. Yass...points!!!! I recall being the one who moaned last year about early lists being plundered so I agree that 'hidden' lists would be a good idea next year. Hopefully it'll be Maggie next.
  16. The Urn Fulfilled Shirley Temple Black Maggie Thatcher (joker) Hugo Chavez Stephen Hawking David Jacobs Prince Phillip Macauley Culkin Michael Winner Ian Paisley Chuck Berry Vera Lynn Ray Harryhausen Pete Seeger Micky Rooney Dora Bryan Ronnie Biggs Christopher Lee Doris Day Jimmy Hill Nelson Mandela
  17. Vinyl back as main way to buy music, but still pick up cds 2nd-hand. The cds also get stuck on ipod for listening about town, or for shuffling at home when I'm too lazy to go over to change vinyl or cd. Still occasionally play cassettes and minidiscs too, and very very occasionally a reel-to-reel tape or 78. Don't download if I can avoid it (but sometimes do, when the code comes free with vinyl).
  18. Don't think Lemon Soul ever put anything out, but Gordon went on to front the Squibs, who had at least 2 singles out on Oily records. He died a good few years ago.
  19. Talking of folk being already dead... think Solomon Burke has been a tad life-challenged for a couple of years, Mr Broonbreed
