  4. He was on my list (and on Lucius' too, I think). Bye bye relegation zone losers!
  5. Schwervon! on Sunday! New York anti folk heroes Major Matt Mason and Nan Turner return to Aberdeen for the last date of their UK tour. Think they're on c. 9pm.......I'm on at 8ish.....at Brewdog!
  6. Have you tried 'bouncing' a recording from another track onto track 3? Dunno what you'd learn, tbh...apart from letting you know if playback is ok.
  7. Bump.....just to say that Jim from Drummonds has a good batch of stuff together, and is almost ready to select the final songs, but says it's not too late to get any last-minute finds to him. I think he said Wednesday will be near enough the deadline though!
  8. Some older vinyl...Jimmie Spheeris, Azalia Snail, Family, early Pink Floyd and Judy Roderick.
  9. I have some good quality speaker cable free if you want?
  10. Current listening includes the new ones from Bob Dylan, Adrian Crowley & Josephine Foster, and backtracking into Earth. Also re-discovering some 12" singles I hadn't played for at least a decade, eg A C Marias, Pacific, Woodentops, Sugarcubes etc
  11. I don't remember those things, because I made a vow when the Bon Accord Centre opened not to go into the place. Sadly had to renege on that when my mum needed me to get stuff from there, so now I cut through it to get to George St when it's raining. I wish they'd never stopped the light show outside th Co-opie arcade, and the Christmas tree with the toy trains going round it in the station. Does the lift in the Academy Centre (near the new music shop) still tell you the floor in an Aberdeen accent?
  12. David Mackay, who posted on here as Free Tibet, passed away in the early hours of this morning, after a long battle with leukaemia. If you met, or were in contact on here with David, you'll know he was a great supporter of local bands, and a keen collector of music, as well as being a lovely guy. I had the pleasure of being David's friend for a few years, and was delighted to have him as a bandmate in Matricarians. He'll be a big loss.
  13. Me for the Adem,B P Billy, Gravenhurst, Juana Molina (un dia) and Y M Giants, please!
  14. More Kitchen Cynics/matricarians reviews, plus one of the fabulous downloadable 'For Lee Jackson In Space' 12 hour compilation http://www.terrascope.co.uk/Reviews/Reviews_June_12.htm#LeeJackson
  15. That's probably the book Bob Spence (in the first post) helped write (Fit like New York?), but a tape would be fab gear. Contact Jim Sandison at Drummonds for the gen
  16. Sex with buses is not on my 'to do' list! Gyads
  17. I've seen her live a couple of times....think I was on the same bill once, too.
  18. Kilau occasionally has acoustic nights, but nothing regular at the moment.
  19. Great setlist... have a lot of that on vinyl Barbara Manning was a nice surprise..have a few of her albums etc at home. Sorry I didn't get down.. got too involved in a recording!
  20. I remember the thread, and it was definitely the same idea...hopefully this'll come together if they make enough contacts. When I was told about it the band which was mentioned was Johnny & the Copycats/My Dear Watson ( although Buckie folk, I believe).
