  1. Another brilliant Drakes night in prospect then. Maybe if I took a sleeping bag Jim & Sharon would let me move in, seeing as I'm there so often. (I'd try not to fart a lot during the night)
  2. Tom & Jerry The Simpsons Ren & Stimpy Fritz the Cat Popeye
  3. I arrived too late to see Cuts, so went to Drakes to get bullied by Satyam Shivam Sundaram. Will strive to see Cuts, Real Shocks etc at the Moorings.
  4. I can't help my hair....it grows, and I've learned not to argue with it.
  5. That's why I find them appealing. Their low standards have served me well in the past, although it's expensive on duvet covers, admittedly, and the lovebites take a while to heal. Plus they are a wee bit smelly to tell the truth. However if you like hirsute women (now be honest....who doesn't find a hairy oxter appealing?), then you'll LOVE goats.
  6. I like the Band from Uncle too. They're nice people (or at least the 2 I chatted to at Drakes t'other Friday were!)
  7. Hang on....leave the goats alone. There's got to be something out there for those of us that the sheep don't fancy!
  8. I wanted to see the Session, but arrived too late, so didn't go in. Must get to their next one.
  9. Agreed, rondon....the ep launch night was a good overall mix of sounds.
  10. No horse-tumbling drummer = lack of elan. Sax player (especially ones who call you a thingy!) = lack of forethought. Mind you, woman guitarist cancels out the above 2 problems, so AKA THE FOX are a good thing.
  11. The only worrying thing here is that there's a sax player involved. And we all know what they're like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. What time are Cuts on at????
  13. oops......so it was. I had such a gig-filled week I didn't realise it was part of Tryptch!!!! The Paragon Ensemble will be excellent....I know I'd enjoy hearing Jesus Blood live, but I need a recovery night tonight or my early demise might come sooner than anticipated.
  14. The latest news is that it's Mike, Phil (Hookers Green), Len Atom and Sandy (Electric Tibet). It's got me excited!!!
  15. When I first read that I didn't notice the word "shirts", and wondered why you were complaining about a band with tight pink girls in it.
  16. Thanks for the rundown. I missed it all (thin wallet), but would really like to have seen Wire. You're probably correct about too many bands on the Mute night....that's what put me off getting a ticket.
  17. My only worry is that Pig Destroyer might be another way of saying Hog Killer. and that is NOT a good thought. The world needs more Hogs.
  18. Missed that one, unfortunately, but I saw Kathryn support Damo Suzuki, and was very impressed. (there's some chance we might end up playing together next year, although I might chicken out!)
  19. Last night, too!!! Are you going to the Malt Mill tonight.....if so I'll bring those CDs (and one of K.C's "Brighter Day", too). It's one of Simon G's nights, and I'll do a song or 3 (apologies in advance!).
  20. You're probably correct, but I was fired-up by punk really, when all you had to know were 3 chords, and attempting to learn a fourth was selling out to "the man", so the anti-technique was bred into me. Mind you the polar opposie is equally irritating....the guitarists who spend all their time practiscing "hammering-on" or whatever .....it just makes my teeth ache when it's overdone (although I think I spotted Hog doing it to excellent effect on Friday). Lawy's right, though....nowadays I'm limited in what I can do, and I'm not proud about that. (note to self: buy another copy of Bert Weedon's "Play Guitar the easy way")
  21. Me too.....really enjoyed Damo Suzuki and the Seeds, so big thanks to Hen, but Drakes is just cuter.
  22. I'm self-taught, but after too many years to mention I still only know a few chords, and can't bar. I think I must have skived, or not paid attention when I was showing myself what to do. Mind you, I can't stand techno-flash guitarists anyway.
  23. I hear there have been a few inquiries about omnichords in local music shops since the Black Forest/Black Sea gig.
  24. What time's kick-off, Chilli?
