  1. Do you have an on-line presence that we can check out? I'd be interested in the technology you have at your disposal.
  2. Sounds good and there seems to be a lot of experience there. What are your typical hourly rates?
  3. I was half expecting to see "Will and Grace boxset" in there. (That's a joke based on a Little Green thread I read)
  4. Good. Inconsistent bands don't do well in Aberdeen.
  5. I've also been looking into this and I really fancy a compact system camera. I think someone mentioned this type of camera in a previous post but it's basically a cut down version of a DSLR. You can buy interchangeable lens' too which makes it more versatile than a point and click. They are generally more expensive too. There are also some nice looking bridge cameras which look like a DSLR but have a fixed lens. Just go on any camera website to read up on reviews.
  6. I'll take them if Liam pulls out ...
  7. Played a lot of shithead over Christmas. I enjoy it because I'm good at it.
  8. sorry I linked the wrong link there... http://www.musicmatter.co.uk/alesis-multimix-16-usb-1-1-mixer?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=base
  9. This was the only 1.1 I could find: http://www.camdensounds.co.uk/mixing-desks/alesis-multimix-16-usb-fx-mixer.html The newer 2.0 versions seem to be around the price you've got in your post.
  10. http://www.whattothinkweekly.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/dinosaur-rape.jpg
  11. I still think this is a pile of shit discussion reminiscent of 03s famous 'who's scene, what scene, my scene, windscreen' thread. Anyone using the word scene in relation to music theses days is a dinasaur rapist.

    Fudge Awards

Ask him about the name of his penis... and his testis for that matter.
  13. Oh yeah... that was a great hook up! I remember that well... one of the reasons I love this site. So many great gadgets bought off people and great way of finding like minded musicians. I've not seen Brian in ages! Think he was torn between the scratching and making Techno...
  14. Don't let the name fool you I'm all about the funk! The nights were really good for a while. Local nights were a lot better attended than the bigger names. I have to say that some of our promotion was poor but we also had some seriously good nights. No regrets, learned a lot. I stopped promoting after I ran my bank account into the ground and the band I was in fell apart. I now play and write with a great group of musicians, two of whom I am in the process of setting up a Label with. 2012 will be a good year for Soul, Funk, Jazz and Hip Hop in Aberdeen/Scotland in general. For anyone interested in Funk, there is a night going on in 99 this Sunday. If you like Taco & the Sharpies then you'll like this as it's pretty much the same group of guys minus me. It'll still be amazing.
  15. Says quite a lot. Desensitise the masses.
  16. It's like through the keyhole but for bands. Loyd Grossman "Ticket stubs on the wall ... the menagerie of individuals that make up this group travel Europe playing concerts to discerning gig goers." Random fact that I just discovered... Loyd Grossman had a short lived musical career as lead singer in a punk band called Jet Bronx and the Forbidden. I believe he may have grown out of it and become a TV presenter...
  17. I'm pretty sure this is the same discussion as was going on when I joined this site in 2003... Same problems as always: Work Settling down Times have changed The students are away Bands are generally crap People have grown weary of it all People can't afford to go out every night of the week Only the strongest few can be assed organising anything well Everyone in Aberdeen has crap taste in music and would rather go to Korova or some other terrible club Folk expect everything done for them rather than putting in a bit of effort sticking up posters everywhere I still enjoy playing gigs in Aberdeen. Last couple we've played have been awesome including great after parties. Can't be bothered with this topic yet again. Don't like it do something about it.

    Weekend

Going to home depot, maybe bed bath and beyond ... I don't know if we'll have enough time.
  19. I think I may now have 12 followers. In terms of my own productions I've not really done anything new in the last while other than to upload old tracks to SoundCloud but for anyone who cares to listen check out the above link. I'm slowly getting round to throwing some new tracks together just unsure of the direction to go.
  20. I tend to use a corrosion inhibitor on my bands, does nothing for the structural integrity though.
  21. Who is playing at this gig Jim? Any more details on the day and night events would be great.
  22. We should get stickers and a piggy bank ... just like tufty.
