  1. over priced effects... i think the worst case of "open the fx box with dismay" has to be the fuzz face....70 quid... and the most expensive semi is a a 2n4401 tranny ( of which there are 2)...13 pence to you mate... chuck in a couple of pots... jack sockets... cast smiley face enclosure... and no more than a couple of quid worth of passives... and thats about it really... :o( ..i like jd's stuff...and have some good mxr pedals, but the fuzzface has to be overpriced....
  2. relax... ;o) 1. a US patent is unenforceable in the UK... 2. the practicality of prosecuting all those who use smilies would be inhibitive... 3. a bit of a PR blunder by bill and the guys (again)
  3. Dsl 401... Hmmm half right Tav... I bought a dsl-401 some time back, nice tone sure....not so hot on reliability....the dsl 401 runs very very hot....after a couple of hours the control panel can reach 50 odd degrees C+...while under warranty it failed, the tone was accompanied by a high pitched squeal followed by the tone fading a way completely...read the reviews...its a common problem...sent the amp back to Marshall and it took over six weeks to get it back...two months after that the reverb dried up.... ..in short good tone...its got an aux amp drive output as well so you could also use it to drive a cab and get a little more bass...but reliability aint what it used to be...

  8. dan... not enough data on that site.... at a guess id be surprised if u have a problem.... my advice.... drop these guys a mail...to ask if the items are compatible.... http://www.behringer.com/
  9. dan...just which head are u thinking of hooking up to which cab??? ...as long as the impedances are acceptable...ie large enough load impedance to the selected o/p impedance of the head is an important prerequisite... as for power....if u keep the volume low you are limiting the o/p current to the cab and hence the power...and u might be ok... as tav said...u run the risk of burning out your speakers... and if it is a valve head...u will have no load on the o/p stage and pop goes your head too...
