  1. I've not bought many albums this year, or at least not ones that were newly released this year, mainly due to having fuck all money for 6 months. However, the three stand out albums I've bought this year are: Fantmas - Suspended Animation Queen Adreena - The Butcher And The Butterfly Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth New Order and Idlewild's new ones are good, but not in the same league as the above three. Apart from the Morrissey Earls Court album (which doesn't count), I can't think of any other 2005 albums I've bought, so if I have they've not made much of an impression on me.
  2. I did a thread on this in the feedback forum... I knew it would get virtually ignored on there! Oooh lovely, they've been merged!
  3. Fantmas last night Absolutely AMAZING gig. Seeing Mike Patton live was always going to be ace, but I wasn't prepared for the gig to be THAT good. The look on his face as he was singing "Ave Satani" was priceless. The pieces from Delerium Cordia were absolutely immense, and I do believe we were treated to the first drum solo to not bore the pants off everybody. "Firewalk With Me" was brilliant too. And the pieces from Suspended Animation were ace... Argh! It was all just so fucking brilliant! Patton is like a modern day Mozart, but with like 80 microphones and a ton of samplers instead of a piano, and guitars and drums instead of an orchestra. So what did everyone else who went think?
  4. Did anyone see the aceness that is Queen Adreena? I believe they were on pretty much first thing on the Friday, so I doubt it. Which would be a shame since they're a fucking brilliant live act.
  5. I get that a lot when I've got my earphones plugged into my TV and there's a pause in the sound... almost always German radio channels. Is it not the guitar acting as an aerial, rather than the amp, that does it though? That's what I've always been led to believe anyway. Coupled with bad earthing.
  6. Oooh, Boyd went absolutely nuts today! I bet Neighbours deal with schizophrenia much better than Eastenders did years ago.
  7. WHAT???????? What's going to be on the DVD? If I'd known about this I'd have waited before buying it. Anyway, recent purchase and birthday presents: Queen Adreena - The Butcher And The Butterfly (absolutely fucking ace) SikTh - The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait For Something Wild New Order - Waiting For The Siren's Call Bjork - Debut Idlewild - Warnings/Promises Magazine - Real Life/Second Hand Daylight double thingy The Cure - Bloodflowers
  8. I saw that on CD:UK today. I'm no Coldplay fan, but I thought it was a pretty decent track.
  9. I thought it was an absolutely superb gig. Best all-local-bands gig I've been to yet in fact. Actually, that's the first time I've ever been to a gig and enjoyed EVERY act, local or not. Spike Pile Driver were even better than I'd been hoping they'd be. That's the first time I've seen them, it certainly won't be the last. As I said to Jake, I'd ace to know what the lyrics are... I thought "Emo emo emo emo emo sucks" was more than a little amusing Hog's fastasfuck as well. And the stage banter was great. AKA The Fox sound sooooo much better with a real drummer I reckon. That's the third time I've seen them and definitely the best. The other two times I thought they were sounding a bit repetitive, and I think that must have been due to the drum machine because they kept my atttention the whole time last night. The songs didn't all sound like Dirty Punk by The Clash this time. Which is a bonus. The Videos were ace. After the first couple of songs I was worried that they'd gone a bit less punky, but I was soon proven wrong. I don't see how it's possible to find them boring with Sharon up there, screaming obscenities and making amusing noises from her synth... At the very least, me and Hog agreed she had a "lot of front" (ayyyyyyyyye). Highlights for me were SPD's songs about the Russian Revolution and Emo, and TV's "Repeat/Delete" (I assume that's what it's called) and the one about cats. Especially the purring.
  10. Oooooh, I need to try and make this. I still haven't seen SPD, and also Sharon's antics are rather amusing.
  11. What the fuck? Dave doesn't go to one shitty debate, and suddenly Lilliana's wanting a seperation?!?!?! What'll she do if he forgets to do the dishes?
  12. I decided tyhere was no way I was going to watch this series at ALL. As soon as I caught a glimpse of Lesley's tits, I changed my mind. That Maskoiaieiuio (sp?) woman is annoying. I know she's trying to get as many nominations as possible, but you can tell that she's not having to try very hard to be an annoying bitch. For example, there was a discussion last night about aliens, and it was mentined that there's a theory Egyptians were actually aliens, and she was being so fucking forceful with her opinion. "They're not aliens, they're Africans!".... completely missed the point. What an idiot. And that Geordie boy's a prick.
  13. Why's Stinger's arm broken? Did Dave Bishop catch him in bed with Serena and beat him?
  14. Is it not time they changed the name of the competition? I've always hated the name "Champions League", as it sounds like the sort of name an ITV executive would come up with, plus knockout stages kind of defeat the purpose of a "league". But now that we have a 4th placed team winning it, is it not time they reverted back to "European Cup", or perhaps "Champions And Highly Placed Rich Teams Cup"?
  15. "For Sale? Dumb cunts same dumb questions" - Yes "Images of perfection, suntan and napalm" - Ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayit'sworldwouldfallapart "Life is lead weights, pendulum died" - Of Walking Abortion "If hospitals cure, then prisons must bring their pain" - Archives Of Pain "Mr lenin awaken the boy, Mr Stalin bisexual epoch, Kruschev self-love in his mirrors" - Revol "Days since I last pissed, cheeks sunken and despaired" - 4st 7lbs "Wherever you go I will be, carcass" - Mausoleum "I am an architect, they call me a butcher" - Faster "Do not listen to a word I say, just listen to what I can keep silent" - This Is Yesterday "Scratch my leg with a rusty nail, sadly it heals" - Die In The Summertime "You were what you were - clean cut, unbecoming" - The Intense Humming Of Evil "Teacher starve your child, PC approved, as long as the right words are used" - P.C.P. So that's every first line from The Holy Bible by the Manics. A few others from Manics songs: "Morning always seems to stale to testify" - Sleepflower "Life has been unfaithful, and it all promised so so much" - La Tristesse Durera "Roses in the hospital, try to pull my fingernails out" - Roses In The Hospital "Childbirth tears upon her muscle" - Life Becoming A Landslide "I am the raping sunglass gaze of sweating man and escort agencies" - Nostalgic Pushead "Need someone to nurse me, reach out for the first person I see" - Comfort Comes "Put your lipstick on, at least your lies will be pretty" - Donkeys "Vintage aromas and vintage ideals, old men greying to a dying country's needs" - New Art Riot "Never ever wanted to be with you, the only thing you gave me was the boredom I suffocate in" - Motown Junk "I wanna wake to a shot parade of wealth and take a spray can to my useless vote" - Teenage 20/20 "The gap that grows between our lives, the gap our parents never had" - The Everlasting "You have your very own number, they dress your cage in its nature" - Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky There are others...
