  1. I don't see no Space Rock on that list Not to mention no Psychedelic Space Rock, Space Folk Rock, Space Blues and Space freak-out jazz. . . Whats the world coming to??( The one genre thats beginning to piss me off is ponsy post-rock though. So repetitive
  2. I'd go along, as I've seen Lach before and really enjoyed it, but it's the Monday after the Wickerman Festival and I'll most likely be both broke, and very very hungover Reading that over, its a bit of a shit excuse. . .
  3. Hell if i was gonna die I'd try heroin. Also every hallucinogen under the sun. I'd probably start a Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler cover band too.
  4. Got a trip planned to Amsterdam in November for the Gong Family Unconvention We got return flights for the full price of 36.50 each. Got to travel to Birmingham for that though. We're hopefully staying at the Bulldog hostel. I've heard they are supposed to have the best cafe in all of Amsterdam, but i'll be the judge of that.
  5. We're all shite. If it's not enough to fuck ourselves over, we have to go and fuck the entire planet up for every other living creature too The meaning of life seems to have been dominated by materialism. Money, climbing up the social ladder, and power is what our generation can aim to achieve today. In order for things to get better, i believe things need to get a lot worse first. Something big and terrible will befall the human race in the not so distant future, and the look on every shitty human's face will be priceless. It will be then that we hopefully realise "We've done it all wrong. Lets do it right this time." Wishful thinking?
  6. Sad news indeed. Barrett was certainly a unique song writer.
  7. No way! I remember AGES and AGES ago, me and John got him to play the lemon tree as a last minute performer. Nice. Might come along for this
  8. Pod XT with Shortboard going for 150 now
  9. Not long ago bought The Lamb Dies Down on Broadway by Genesis. Can't believe i never bought it before. The whole album is absolutely spectacular, and probably the best prog rock i've heard. It's nothing short of a master piece and it's definately worth checking out whether you like prog or not.
  10. Yeah i slept through most of it. The sweet sounds of thunder and lightning infiltrated my dreams! Once i was dreaming that I was listening to the start of Dire Strait's 'Brothers in arms', only to wake up to find it was thunder and lightning outside. I love it
  11. WFT?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Now i'm told? Typical. Well i definately would have been there had i known about it. When was it anyway? I really shouldn't get too upset as im seeing them this year anyway
  12. Anyone familiar with other Japanese music at the moment? Acid Mother Temple are definately a band worth checking out (I'm getting to see them perform with Gong in November!!!!) Also, The Ghost are excellent if you like a bit of psychedelic prog
  13. Cheers for the feedback dudes. I agree its very like King Crimson's Red era. We have another song to come before and after this track that we've yet to record. As it is a trilogy, it should sound more complete when the rest is finished. The guitar tone is something i'd definately want to change however. I was using a god awful distortion peddle on that recording. Anyone else with any thoughts they'd like to share?
  14. Yeah damn right. Was there last year and i had an amazing time. Shame Space Ritual aren't playing this year, but i'm looking forward to seeing System 7 Can't wait!
  15. Well atleast people are listening. . . Progarchives.com, undergroundscene.co.uk, and alternativenation.net have all offered no feedback as of yet o_O
  16. Hey folks. The Snake Temple Kings have recorded recently a new piece of music which will be the middle part of a trilogy of music. The recording quality is poor as we rushed the mix, but we will be working on recording again shortly. The new track is called Ad Nausium just so you know. We would be very grateful for any feedback on the new song or any of the music so far. Cheers The Snake Temple Kings Before i forget o_O heres the link: www.myspace.com/thesnaketemplekings
  17. Pod XT is still for sale btw, so anyone who is interested lemme know
  18. I was also at the gig and thought it was excellent. I'd definately go again to see them. Nik Turner's playing is amazing these days From what i've seen of hawkwind dvds, space ritual are far more worthy of carrying the title of "Hawkwind". I also agree with you on the Roger Waters front
  19. Doors 8:30 i believe. Tickets 15 Concession 10 I'm actually wetting myself. Last time i saw them was at the Wickerman Festival last year and they were absolutely brilliant. Still plenty tickets left at the door.
  20. Broken Sword, eh? I've got that sitting in another room waiting for me to play it. A friend let me borrow it and insists that i hsould play it. The Da Vinci Code is a shit book but nevertheless was a good read. I'll probably go see the film, and if it holds my attention for the full time then fair enough. I agree with Johnny Mac about a lot of people "jumping on the wagon" and slating the book though. This happens way too often these days.
  21. I highly recommend the open mic night on Sundays at the moorings. Also, if you are ever seeking some progressive rock in the Aberdeen area check out the Snake Temple Kings! www.myspace.com/thesnaketemplekings
  22. BOSS GT6 for sale, with box manual etc. Also for sale, Pod XT with floorboard, not boxed. If anyone is interested drop me a PM
