  1. Moving soon and in need of cash. Never got round to selling this thing. Pod XT with FBV shortboard (for live use) going for 75 Pod has few scratches on the back but the front display is fine. It seems the ethernet cable input is damaged but should be easily fixed. Manual and power supplies included. PM me if you're interested.
  2. excellent! Might just be ordering one next month then. I know how delicate they are so i hope it will arrive in one piece. . .
  3. Hey folks. I'm currently looking for a sitar at a reasonable price. Don't really know much about the instruments, however. I used to own an electric sitar, but thats hardly the same thing. I'd be after one for under 300 if possible. Anyone know somewhere I could get one for around that price? I know someone who ordered from abroad, but it took a year to arrive and when it did, it was cracked. . . I'd rather order from somewhere in the UK if possible. So if anyone has any info, that would be much appreciated. Thanks Rory

  5. So he's gone to the great gig in the sky. . . Sad news, indeed. It was only last night I put on Atom Heart Mother to hear Wright's "Summer '68" contribution to the album. A really clever piece of music it is. Couldn't believe when i heard the news this morning. RIP.
  6. cheers for your thoughts any comment on the actual mixes of the music?
  7. A link may help, i suppose MySpace.com - The Snake Temple Kings - Aberdeen, UK - Progressive / Psychedelic / Rock - www.myspace.com/thesnaketemplekings
  8. Hey again folks. Just got round to putting up the final mixes of three of our tracks, Round and round, Ad Nauseam, and Where did you go? There are some new bits added to the tracks, subtle synth pads, sax and even poetry All tracks recorded and mixed at Musical Vision. Let us know what you think of the mixes n everything. Thank you Rory
  9. I'd say musical vision. Better for prices, equipment and certainly recording. Far superior amps to that at toms, and there has always been a member of staff on hand to assist (just look in the office or the recording room).
  10. Excellent band. Saw them in Glasgow last year where they played a fantastic set. Also just back from the wickerman festival where i saw Zub Zub, and Dream Machine (both with ex ozrics members), who were also really good. From the newer stuff i have heard from the ozrics, i'd say they have gotten better over time, if anything. They are sounding slightly more electronic these days, but I'm still loving their tunes.
  11. To be honest i don't mind seaguls. I find them quite amusing at times. If humans weren't such lazy, messy bastards the problem probably wouldn't have started in the first place! Saw a helpless baby seagul sitting outside MV earlier today. Never like seeing that type of thing. . .
  12. When I was young and they packed me off to school and taught me how not to play the game, I didn't mind if they groomed me for success, or if they said that I was a fool. So I left there in the morning with their God tucked underneath my arm -- their half-assed smiles and the book of rules. So I asked this God a question and by way of firm reply, He said -- I'm not the kind you have to wind up on Sundays. So to my old headmaster (and to anyone who cares): before I'm through I'd like to say my prayers -- I don't believe you: you had the whole damn thing all wrong -- He's not the kind you have to wind up on Sundays. Well you can excomunicate me on my way to Sunday school and have all the bishops harmonize these lines -- how do you dare tell me that I'm my Father's son when that was just an accident of Birth. I'd rather look around me -- compose a better song `cos that's the honest measure of my worth. In your pomp and all your glory you're a poorer man than me, as you lick the boots of death born out of fear. I don't believe you: you had the whole damn thing all wrong -- He's not the kind you have to wind up on Sundays.
  13. I'm seriously thinking on seeing a hypnotist in order to stop smoking. I've heard of many extremely successful cases and wouldn't mind hearing other people's experiences. Anyone had any? Also, i figured it would be good to find a reputable hypnotist in the Aberdeen area to see. Anyone know any good ones in our area? Cheers Rory
  14. I adore magma. Think i started a post about them some time ago. Lots of people find them pretty unlistenable, and i though i can sympathise with them, i can't get enough of them. I quite like the fusiony period they went through in the 80s, i think. Thats one of my favourite songs. Any band that sings in their own made up language is worthy of some respect
  15. I have one, and it serves me fine. Only problem with it is the loose arm. Constantly having to adjust the weights so it can properly play my warped tangerine dream albums. there are some good hiss and crackle remover stuff on the software too
  16. Fantastic news. I was considering taking a trip to Ireland's Electric Picnic festival to see them. Last time was one of the best gigs i've ever been to. Very excited about this
  17. Im regretting that I've been gettng back into football again recently. Now i remember why i didn't bother before. Put that one down to a shitty Aberdeen defence though.
  18. faust AND silver apples. Magical. . . 8-)
  19. i recently got my hands on Nik Turner's Sphynx - Exitintoday, which features all the members of Gong. Also got Steve Hillage's "Khan" recently as well as his first band "Arzachel" Rarest of my collection would be Michael Moorcock and The Deep Fix. Ha. "Time Centre" is fantastic.
  20. kashmir red certainly made a comeback. . . Maybe next year there will be a category for best prog band
  21. I like a lot of System 7, Eat Static, The Orb, and bits of infected mushroom even. Do the ozric tentacles count? System 7 are playing glasgow next month, on the 14th at King Tuts for anyone interested.
  22. Yeah i can see your point. Only too often when i see some of these new 'soul' singers on tv, the first words that come to mind are "fake jazz". You often get on tv shows like the X factor, Sinatra wannabes and so on. It seems that a lot of music is about reenacting eras of the past that are now deemed "cool". When i see these people perform, it just doesn't feel genuine to me. But you know, if thats what people want to be entertained by. . .
  23. yeah sounds really good. Heard you guys practising the other night while at the studio and it was all sounding really tight too. good stuff
