  1. Urch, can't really comment on the loss of Million Dead, as I've never really took the time to get my head round them, but on a related note... LONG LIVE PALEHORSE!
  2. Is the supports still the same? Or is there a possibility of a full length set? I really have no clue what the relevence of that question is.
  3. In the vein of Kyuss!? Oh, this gig's just got so much better. Fingers crossed on an Evac bass attack
  4. The only difference between the standerd MXR ten band EQ and the KK sig one is that the KK has dual outputs. Would be handy if you were in a position to require the usage of two seperate amps, but otherwise, it's not worth the extra cost.
  5. Because you touch yourself at night.
  6. FUCKING ACE! BYOB!!! Means I'll be out with my two litres of jagermeister and red bull again. And Filthpact T-shirts!?! Got any XL one's? If so, keep one back for a certain tall, grumpy, and often drunk guitarist.
  7. Hahaha Things that stink: "New Jersey" *nod* *TING*
  8. Any of the following would be lovely Carcass - Exhume To Consume Carcass - Pedigree Butcher Cephalic Carnage - Psuedo Death - Empty Words Meshuggah - Suffer In Truth Necrophagist - Intestinal Incubation
  9. Meshuggah don't use them any more. They now use custom Ibanez eight strings. If only the bastards would get round to releasing a commercial version of it. Oh, and F isn't a silly tuning. If you want proof, scoot along to The Moorings on september 3rd. I've been using that tuning basically since Evac reformed, and so far I've found it to be nothing but peaches and cream. The only problem with it is the fact that it doesn't seem to agree with guitar amps, which means using bass amps. Not necesserily a bad, but I'm sure that trying to convince people to lend bass equipment for gigs won't be too fun.
  10. I was thinking that as well, although it does seem possible. What made me a bit skeptical about whether or not it was fake was more the whole fact that everything in the first few levels just seemed to be in the right place. I mean, it's possible, but it just seems a bit strange.
  11. Yes' date=' of course, that really is a tragic thing to see. Oh god, how can people seriously give in to what humours them so easily, like a common slut to a crisp, new fifty pund note. Disgraceful, utterly disgraceful. What'cha talkin' 'bout foo'! Laughing out loud is absolutely, fucking brilliant. A fit of laughter is something that everyone should try and partake in as often as possible. Sure, it hurts like hell after a while, what with the inability to breathe, but once that passes... god, it feels good. I've just inspired myself to go watch that episode of Family Guy where Death sprains his ankle. Seeing Peter jump from the top of that building... christ, it makes me giggle inside just thinking about it. Bitch*. *The above was not directed towards anyone, before a barrage of homophobic, and childish insults are directed towards my way. Good day.
  12. Agreed! It seems people often class it as a cheap rip off, but after the first two episode's, I really can't see why anyone could possibly justify that. "Now you will all suffer the wrath of the fucking, fucker!"
  13. Wait' date=' I thought American sizes were a size bigger than ours, hence making a 9 a 10, meaning the size you order is a 9.5. But yeah, according to the site, a half size off for men, two sizes for women. Guh, why do I always feel there's something lacking from my posts these days.
  14. Hhhhmmmm... shit, can't think of much past Palehorse. Maybe Goatsblood too, but it's been a while since I've given them a proper listen. Still, I'm more a drone doom fan. Bah.
  15. Fuck it, seeing as how most threads started by any member of Statue of Misery seems to instantly become a band thread, lets make this the Evac thread. Yeah, we can post here more than any cunt would be willing to, raising the post count to over 1,000 and basically wasting bandwidth. Actually, nah, scrap that idea. Hey, fuck you, I'll wash when I want to/when I summon the strength to tear me away from my stash of Family Guy on my computer. Which, incidently, is tomorrow.
  16. Dear god, Grindcore!? How can anyone possibly have a favourite "grind" band!? They all sound exactly the fucking same. Talentless noise. A distinct lack of musical abillity, resulting in a blurt of random notes. A blind midget with two fingers could play better than three entire grind bands put together. And what the fuck is with the people count! Three piece and two piece bands. Have these people a clue? And where's the bassist in most of them. To sum it up, the entire genre is worse than the world wide collection of neanderthalic Metal Heads, who ruin every gig they go to by "moshing", which of course is just a homosexual courting ritual. I think you should all grow up, and fast. Fuck it, we should all live in a hole, listen to the pop charts, and each day discuss how close we are to killing one another after listening to so much, monotinous, manufactured, untalented shit. *ahem* Yeah, grind, my list isn't particularly great, but hopefully this will be a good time to grab out a pen and paper to take down some names. Ain't that rich, guitarist in a Grind band and I don't even listen to that much Grind. What's the world coming to. Anyways: 324, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, (old school) Carcass, Cephalic Carnage, Circle Of Dead Children, Discordance Axis, Fuck...I'm Dead, Narcosis, Nasum, Pig Destroyer, and Today Is The Day. Yeah, that pretty much represents my grind listening.
  17. I've been playing using an Ibanez RG7420 for the past 16 months now, and I can honestly say that I prefer seven strings to six. I can't figure out why, but I just find it far easier to play it rather than my six strings. The only problem I've actually encountered using mine has been the excessive amount of time it takes to tune after restringing, and that's because of the trem. Don't know if all floating trems are the same, but I'd stick to fixed bridge versions unless it's really necessary to have a trem. That said, I suppose my tuning of choice hasn't really helped it. Come to think of it, I've also had a bit of difficulty dealing with tones on amps, but that's due to my having to compensate for the lack of bass in Evac, and because I haven't the patience to spend ten full minutes setting up my equipment to match the tone of whatever amp I'm using. Guh.
  18. Wait, wait, wait! Is this the advertisement for their brilliant "new" invention, memoflex glasses? o_O If so, I can't remember fuck all about the advert itself, but I do remember feeling slightly cheated. This is the eighth or nineth year in a row that they have released the "newly" developed memoflex glasses, and every time it's the exact same fucking style of glasses. Maybe I've just imagined it, but christ, Vision Express must be under the impression that the british population have the memory span of a Goldfish. Releasing the same product repeatedly, claiming it to be brand new... If only it was as easy as that in so far as writing music.
  19. From the very little I've seen, Seymour Duncan do custom eight string pick-ups, as do Lundgren, who I'm assuming you're aware of through the Nevborn website. No idea about any companies who make them as part of their standard line. Wouldn't like to imagine the cost of a custom pick-up like
  20. If you happen to find a cheap source of 8 string guitars, please, give me a shout about it. If your wanting an eight for the low end, you'd be far better trying to get your hands on a decent seven, putting on a really heavy guage, and tuning down. I've been tuned to F (FA#D#G#C#FA#) using this method, for about the last four or five months, and really recommend it as a solution to getting that low end without having to spend out a shitload of cash. In such a situation I'd also recommend getting a seven string with a larger scale neck. I only know of one guitar company that uses an extended scale as standard for seven strings, and that's Schecter. All their sevens, bar the 007 elite, have 26.5" necks, rather than the standard 25.5". Don't know if that's for a particular reason, but I'd imagine it would be quite helpful. I know from my own experience, I have to tune just slightly higher to keep enough tension in the strings to allow for a good thrashing. Although, that said, I've only altered the tension of my trem, haven't touched the truss rod, so getting the guitar set up would perhaps be advisable. Shit, that turned into an essay and a half. Yeah, good luck on finding a new guitar. As I said, if you find a cheap source of eight strings, please, for the love of fuck, point it out! * low end junky *
