  1. Kerbdog - On The Turn. One of the alt-rock albums of the Nineties, and completele brilliant.
  2. Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb Hopesfall - The Satellite Years (4 from Play) Ramstein (Sp?) - Senshuct (sp?) - bit pish The Twilight Sad - Album with long title - rather loverly.
  3. Jacob WAS fucking awful, wasn't he. Missed Johnny English - did you pick up a Softcore CD? Jonahs version of Sweet Child is quite entertaining, and actually Jacobs version of "Where Eagles Dare" is fucking good too!
  4. I think it's cos the grind-y stuff is mainly short blasts of chaos, with loads of Mastodon-esque riffy metal bits. All rather fucking loverly though. Will check out Terrifyer forthwith....
  5. So if I like Phatom Limb (which I do), I'd also like....Terrifyer?
  6. I listen to Minus the Bear - haven't got the newie though....
  7. Always a name I've heard, but had always disregarded 'cos I don't really "get" grind. Just listened to a few tracks offa their myspazz sitefrom Phantom Limb - it sounds fucking ace, but not what I expected - much more "straight ahead", less blasts etc - will probably pick up the album tomorrow, Have they changed sound?
  8. He was fucking great as usual. Opened with "Mother Mary" (ace!) ran through the best bits of his various bands, including a fucking blisteringly raw "Be Quiet (and Drive)" plus some from his new one. Some lippy Weegie bint got ripped to bits, which was ace. Met Jonah after, and as per, he was a loverly bloke. Didn' t stick around for Frank Turner, although he too is a loverly bloke. GET TO THE TUNNELS ON THE 17TH TO SEE HIM YOU CUNTS!
  9. The Blackening is fucking great and you're ALL shit.
  10. Divine Heresy? Yep, pish. And FF made areasonable record with Archetype (IMHO better than Obsolete) but they're a fucking joke now. Whats up with the MH hating? Awesome band, several ace albums (Supercharger is pish) and they still sound like only themselves - WTF are you on about Hog in terms of "sounding like Trivium"? (the wine may have muddled your message). I agree with the state of metal though - soooooo many generic metalcore, tuneless, lack of talent wannabes about. That said, great releases from Shels, Neurosis, Municipal Waste, SSS, Megadeth, Clutch, The Warriors, Jesu etc, plus a host of great Hardcore releases have kept my interest in "heavy" music up. Enter Shirari are AWFUL though.
  11. Million Dead - Harmony No Harmony (Only 1 in Borders sale!) Eyehategod - Confediracy of ruined lives (3) G.U. Medicine - s/t (6) Throwdown - Venom and Tears (Pantera rip-offffffffff)
  12. When there's an 60-80G one, I'll think about it. My 40G one is looking pretty chunky and full at the moment.
  13. You suck. HWM were awesome, and his vocals were a big part of that.
  14. Ooh, I just got "Los Feliz" in the post. Rather good it is too.
  15. And on that theme (although I think Superjoint are pretty rubbish), just pre-ordered this: Plus unrelated, this: Good month September!
  16. 'Fraid Not! The Warriors - Genuine Sense Of Outrage Casey Jones - The Messenger
  17. It's been getting distinctly average reviews in the usual places. Fuck 'em. I'm getting fucking bored of the mainstream press saying how tired they are of "metalcore" then clearly choking on the record companies cocks and giving another good review out to generic pish.
  18. Excellent. I'd be snapping up tickets for the upcoming tour (Warriors, This Is Hell, Comeback Kid, Parkway Drive and Cancer Bats) if it weren't so close to Mrs Medichi's due date.....
  19. OK, I stole the album offa torrents and have got it out of my system. Its pish. I apologise for wasting everyone's time. Essentially it's "metalcore" watered down with some Slipknot-esque verses packaged nicely for mainstream consumption - and should be despised as such.
  20. Oh I KNOW, it wasn't really a recommendation, more of an admission of guilt....
  21. ...but I inexplicably like this lot: MySpace.com - Five Finger Death Punch - New CD out NOW!! - Los Angeles, California - Metal / Thrash / Hardcore - www.myspace.com/ffdp At various points sounds like Tool, Disturbed (eeep!) and Pantera. Seriously, I'm reeeeeally sorry.
  22. I rate "Hide The Kitchen Knives" over "Young Bodies...".
  23. Amongst a deluge of horribly sub-par albums from Yankee big-hitter "commercial" hardcore/metalcore acts (i.e. on large-ish labels, Victory etc) - Every Time I Die, Throwdown and Nora, I'm looking at you - The new Warriors album is..... FUCKING AWESOME! Seriously great album - I loved their first record (War Is Hell), thought "Beyond The Noise" was rubbish and expected this to be pish too, but its rather fantastic. No-one sounds quite like them, mixing in a load of influences (Death Metal, Hip Hop, Hardcore) plus some choice guest vocals (Lemmy and Lou from SOIA) and actually wring good SONGS, something most of their contemporaries seem to have forgotten. Best on-line review compared it to VoD and Biohazard - more because of the attitude that you can stretch beyond traditional HXC sounds and create something a little different than actual sound. Deffo one of the best "heavy" releases of the year. Highly recommended.
